I usually don't post a whole lot of personal stuff, but I felt it was relevant to this board because of the name I've given it. You'll see once you get there, etc.

It's under construction, but that is the general motif I'll be using overall. Any comments would be appreciated.

Looks pretty sharp. What kind of content are you going to have besides portfolio links?

Blog, maybe a comic page, and I'm going to try and co-opt the carbonmade code for my portfolio, or at least find a suitable alternative. I'm starting to get a shitload more web design work, and I need something to put on a business card. I've pretty much narrowed my interests down to web design and logo work at this point.
I'm also planning to be myself when it comes to the page, which means it might put off people who want their contracted designers to maintain a professional image. :)
Thanks for the good word.

So you do freelance web design? I want to do creative-type stuff professionally myself; I do web design, animation, and a bit of graphic/logo design. I've been trying for a loooong time to get a job at a studio and have done a bit of freelance stuff myself, though it's mainly been for either friends or friends of friends.
Your site also reminds me, I really need to update my Carbonmade portfolio...

It's tough getting a job at a studio. For one thing, schools are shitting out graduates at an alarming rate, therefore saturating the job market. For another, the label "graphic designer" has become such a convoluted term, that every DeviantART schmuck and his mother tend to use it, whether they have any kind of design skills or not.
I started out at a newspaper doing ads and layouts. The stress affected my health so bad, my doctor pretty much ordered me to quit or face a heart attack or stroke. It was also a very stifling environment, creativity-wise.
I lucked out by designing an adult entertainer friend's website, and from that, I started getting work, little by little. I'd still like to have more, but right now, I'm getting relatively more work than I did have, and working from my living room doesn't hurt.
