He's now even more messed up than he was an hour ago. What a trainwreck that call was. Sat in my car for 10 minutes just to see if he would kill himself on the air....

He worked for Stern for years, and then was just gone, and his absence really has never been explained.
Seriously, what's going on?
Here's a link to his crap website.

Pretty much, he was an alcoholic and drug addict. They gave him multiple chances. (including Gary and Tom going to his apartment and having to break the door down.) But he just couldn't get it together so he was fired.
Since then, he moved to California and went into rehab. Yet, according to how he was acting, it seems like he's still got some problems.

poor guy who has to put up with shit like this:
Muscle-bound writer K.C. is a regular target for Stern and company's barbs. "They're constantly making fun of him because [they think] he's gay," a source tells Vaultreports.com. "[But] he doesn't seem gay. He never looks at any of the interns, but he has a regular male guy vibe. He has had one or two long-term girlfriends. I think it's more likely that Ralph [Howard Stern's assistant] is gay than K.C." His title is Associate Producer, he was hired in 1998 to help Gary BA BA BOOEY with booking guests and writing comedy bits for the show. He's also a total FOX as you can see! We're 2 gay guys in San Francisco and we're obvious KC fans. You can e-mail us here: timmikat@hotmail.com
WE always wondered if handsome KC was indeed "one of the boys". The question of KC's sexual orientation came up again when a fan from St. Louis came in to let KC touch her breasts. She said she wanted to prove that KC was not gay, and that he would be receptive to her boobs. Well, just like with other girls, KC said he didn't think she was his type and did not want to touch them. Howard and the gang then really pressed KC on his sexuality. They couldn't understand why a 23 year old guy wouldn't want to grope a pair of nice young breasts. (perhaps he's a gentleman?)
KC then went on to say that he was very particular with women, and ideally wanted a virgin. He said that he found women that were sexually open to be "dirty". Dominic Barbara called in saying that the odds are 100 to 1 that KC is gay.
KC took a much anticipated lie detector test to see if he was gay. As with previous lie detection tests, Ed Torian conducted it.
KC was found to be lying when Ed asked him if he's ever fantasized about men while masturbating, and if he ever dreamed of having gay sex. He was even found to be lying when Ed asked him if he would like to kiss Gary's gargantuan lips. The test results suggested that KC was bi because he also liked women. We especially liked the question about Henry Rollins! One of the interesting revelations from the tests was that KC has had problems "performing" over 5 times with women. Howard and the gang were amazed by this, how could a 23 year old man have problems getting it up for a woman. Howard said that at least KC was bi, Ralph's polygraph test said he was gay. KC was insistent that the tests results were false, so he took the test again. He failed the test the second time around as well. Ed’s lie detection services can be contacted at (800)934-3241.
Is he? Isn't he? Who cares? None of you or us will ever get to find out, so let's just admire him from a far. Actually we hope he is gay, as does everyone else. But he doesn't have to figure that out for a while. The guys on the show are just so jealous because he is so good-looking and NOT a pig like they would be if they looked so good. We love him just the way he is! Please fans, send us pictures and goodies for our ever-growing K.C. fan page.

The anger toward Tom was really creepy - it was amazing how quickly he went from a guy who seemed positive and doing fine to a guy that still had some serious issues and wasn't fine at all.

Yeah, you can tell he's still really messed up. You could really feel Howard and Crew were just getting more and more sad as the interview went on. I knew he was still nuts when he told Tom to drop dead.
And Schwic, the stuff you found about how they treated him was an on air goof, and was just a small portion of his relationship with the rest of the staff. Based on the beginning of his interview today, you could tell how much he loved and missed Howard and the staff (except Tom).

Yeah that was sad and disturbing. Damn, and to be a guy that good looking but still have so many fucking hang ups and problems so you can't even enjoy it. is really sad.
This is a pretty emotional Stern show today....the begining of the end of an era...

Still, poor guy. I hadheard he was getting his shit together, but it sounds like he still got issues.

Uhh, did you hear the part where he said he was a self-mutilator, and that it was no big deal? And that when Tom came by his apartment he had cut himself open and was bleeding on a bible? and that he started drinking again? The guys a complete mess, it made me sad as hell to hear from him...

It got pretty scary and depressing but still - AMAZING radio. It will be interesting to see if Stern mentions it tomorrow or takes calls on it - or will he just let it be realizing that further attention to it could only screw KC up even more?

Yup, there off the next two weeks. Since they're winding down now on his show, I bet they throw out some vintage "best of" material the next two weeks and from now on. I hope so anyway, its always funny hearing a Jackie show and just laughing at what a absolute fool he was to walk away. :)

Yup, there off the next two weeks.
You are correct--"Best of" the next two weeks. These are also the first two weeks of Artie shooting his indy movie that tipped him over the edge not-so-long ago.
Who's going to be the next Stern staffer to crash-and-burn? Artie? Sal? I'd bet Sal. Artie seems to have at least gotten some help for now. Unless things go terribly wrong during his movie and he falls off the wagon, he could hold it together. Sal doesn't seem like he even recognizes he has a problem.

Unfortunately, I think it's going to be Artie - he seems real sensitive to the possibility that he can't be as funny when he's clean and sober. I'm worried he's going to pull a Belushi which is actually one of the reasons I haven't pulled the trigger on getting Sirius yet...

Yeah Artie is gonna have a tough time with the sobriety thing. I think thats partly why he just stayed away from the show when he was "sick", he doesn't think his contribution will be as worthy if he's not being Artie.
Sal though, does display every symptom of a person who could just snap at any moment, and I mean really break down and lose it. :) Plus he's got serious "daddy" issues with Howard. :D

Man, I hope you guys are wrong about Artie. I'm not saying you don't make good points, I just hope you are both very wrong. I'd hate to see the guy lose it and implode ala Belushi. He comes off like a really good guy on the show and I'd hate to see anything bad happen to him because he couldn't cope.
Sal? Not so much. That guy is a dick. I don't want anything bad happening to anyone, but I wouldn't be feeing a ton of remorse over him losing it, if I have to be honest about it.
