Maybe there could be another boom, I don't know. What I do think though, and this is totally anecdotal- but even during the 90's, when comics were selling in the millions and millions, not many more people seemed to be reading the comics. I was in middle school during the Death of Superman,and everyone in my class bought the comic, but only me and a couple other misfits actually read it. So when people talk about wanting to get more people to buy comics again, really they're just talking about buying, and not reading. If anything, I know more people that actually the read the books nowadays, than ever.

If I think a friend is going to enjoy a product of any media I own, I'll recommend it- be it a prose novel, a movie, video game, album, comic, or whatever. Walked over to my local comic store and discovered they were have a 50% off hardcovers sale. Goodbye money! I picked up the Twelve (Amazing book), Hickman's first FF trade, Secret Warriors Vol 2, and Siege.

I agree with Travis on the fact that comics aren't going to get more popular. I was actually talking about this with a friend last night, and he brought up a great point. In the past comics and toys were it, so more people read the things. Now there's so many options that the popularity of comics has actually evened out with the rise of video games, tv, computers, and all that shit.

I just find it funny that people cry that the industry is dying and that comics are a dying breed. I've been reading comics for 10 years now and I've been years the same shit for years, since the beginning. Comics going digital are going to kill the print media. Ugh, shut up.
