I definitely wasn't excited about Kinect going in and I'm less excited afterward. I would love to be blown away by this, I really would, but when the games seem less exciting than the interface...I tune out.

To me what makes the 360 great is exciting exclusives (because of Microsoft's ability to afford them) and their knack for adding great features to their system. I feel like they've abandoned what makes them...them. They've cribbed way too much from Nintendo circa 2006. Gamers don't seem to care about this, and the casual market is either content with their Wii or bored with it. This seems like a giant misstep. It would be like if Sony invested everything they had in the Eyetoy back in 2004.

Honestly, the casual gamer is not looking to invest that much in a system, I don't think. And they're not looking for involved games. I could be wrong, but I just know that my girlfriend bought a wii cause she played bowling and liked it. But she's not interested in anything else.. I think that ship sailed.

im a little bummed they didn't announce anything for Hulu going to Xbox live, the ESPN thing is kinda cool but I was hoping for a Hulu announcment.
As for Kinnect, it looks cool, I liked the Xbox dashboard features and it could do a lot of cool things once it gets better games. I am still holding out to see how much it will cost.
The new Xbox looks great IMO, if my launch day 360 ever dies on me it will be a good upgrade.

I have to agree that was a pretty embarrassing presser. I had to switch off so many times because of the awkward 'acting.' Wasn't very impressed with Kinect either.

It's about what I expected given that we already knew most of the stuff that was going to be there. Can't really get excited over seeing GoW3 when we've already seen so much about it in the last few weeks. Same with Reach. ESPN was a cool announcement, that's about it.

Nintendo's DS/3DS stuff is going to be where the real fun begins.

I wasn't clear before. I don't think Kinect is like the Eyetoy. It's definitely far more high tech than that. I just think it's odd that this device has become Microsoft's focus. Just as it would have been odd if Sony dedicated an E3 conference to the Eyetoy in the early 2000s. You have an enthusiastic fanbase who buy several games a month, and love your brand, why alienate them with something that doesn't interest them in the slightest? Okay, you want to entice new customers, I get that. So why is your software nearly identical to what your competitor offered four years ago? It makes no sense.

You keep using the phrase 'all the big games have hit' and I don't understand what you mean. Is there a quota of big games for every generation? Yes, a lot of AAA software is out there, and E3 is the place where you announce new AAA games, and for some reason Microsoft decided not to do that. Yes, they cranked out something, but why? Sales are still solid, software sales are great, just keep making excellent games and adding features to Live, and the revenue stream will continue.
