I already own the Sunny's but I'm definitely picking up The Shield. I've never seen it before but heard good things and the price is great.

I wish I had waited because I just bought all the seasons of Always Sunny a few weeks ago and I paid way more than this.

Good price on Sunny. I ended up getting them for less than that but I just got lucky.

Blind buy on The Shield for me. Can't beat that price, and I've only heard good things. Picked up all of It's Always Sunny a few weeks ago for $45, so I don't feel too bad about that one.

I need to give The Shield another shot. I tried it a couple years back. Found the acting to be iffy, the stories to be unrealistic, and the writing to be blah. But you never know, I may really love it now.

Well sure, if it was just those couple of minor little things that you didn't like...

Amazon doesn't slack on the shipping.
NOT EVEN ON CINCO DE MAYO!
(That'll be funnier once you've watched the show.)

 It is just everyone on the board sings its praise, so I figured I was missing some aspect.

it does stretch the realism a bit with some of the stuff the pull. owever, it is not as unrealistic as many people would like to believe either.

The first time I stumbled across it on cable, it was this grisly scene where a Korean guy (I think) had had his feet nailed to the floor by some rival gangbangers. I think his wife was dead nearby. When the cops pull the nails out and get him loose, he stumbles over to a drawer where he pulls out a gun and kills himself.
It was such a horrific scene to come across in isolation I figured it had to be the most exploitational cop show ever.
But it was just the shock of a scene out of context. You really gotta start with the first episode - one of the all-time great first episodes, as it happens - and then it's pretty amazing. Gets a touch potboiler-y at times, but usually I was so into it that I didn't care.
That said, I still haven't watched the final season. :surrend: I've managed to keep away from all spoilers, though. I need to catch it soon. I think it's on Netflix on-demand.
