So a local comic shop is having a big anniversary sale today...but my car payment is due...and I don't have enough money to do both this week.

What would you do?

Yeah, I'm not sure how this is a question...

I guess I'm looking for an excuse to hit the sale instead of making my car payment... :(

There are a lot of back issues I need...

Have fun walking home with your haul of back issues.

Also, if you're really looking for back issues, ebay's probably going to be even cheaper.

Um, dig deep and sell something of interest to another comic shop so that you have money to spend at the shop with the sale? There's always a way. You CAN have it all!

And your sig is out. of. control.

I paid the note.

Figured I could come to the Bendis Boards looking for a little support to do the wrong thing...and you all tell me to do the right thing. I am so disillusioned right now.

I wish you had bought the comics.

Get the comics and get fresh air walking to work from now on! or ride your bike like me!

I gave you the answer. You could have had it all. Now I really have no choice but to question your commitment to Sparkle Motion.

Give up the butt and you will be able to afford both.

Ok...I may regret asking this...but what is Sparkle Motion?

You really should have seen Donnie Darko by this point in your life.

Y'know I kept seeing it at the Video Store but just never picked it up to watch. Only ever caught it on TV once but it was already half over.

well go fix it. I am pretty sure that you saw the scene in question if you saw the back half.

Rather than explain that, I will simply say this: "Yer doin' it wrong."

No I didn't watch it cuz it was half over. :( I'll go add it to my Netflix.

Make the car payment and ask the store to keep the comics you're interested in in a folder until you can afford them.

AndreasMost stores aren't going to let people hold things until an undisclosed point after the sale date has passed and still let them get the sale price. Once word got out, and it would eventually, everyone would make such requests.

Andreas

Sure. I'm aware that the sale is done for a reason, usually because the retailer needs space or money now. It all depends on the quality of the relationship between the customer and the retailer. :)

Isn't that basically layaway?

Your first mistake is owning a car.

What the hell? Pay the car note! Won't be getting to any sales when your car is repoed.

So just how "due" is the car note? Is there a grace period?

what you've just said... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Easy. If you're a liberal you'll buy the comics. Buying back issues practically like recycling, and think of how green you'll be riding your bike to work.

Things like this are why I don't want a car.

Jacques Toochay

Easy. If you're a conservative you'll pay the note. Paying car note practically like soliciting gay sex in an airport restroom, and think of how many homeless people you can run over driving your car to work.

Here's another idea: You could disconnect your internet.

You should run a campaign online for donations, so you can get some free money. I'm sure someone would send you some.

But before they do, can you tell them to send me some so I can make a comic?

Borrow money, sell some stuff, beg, steal, prostitution... there's lots of options. It doesn't have to be either the car or comics, it can be both.
