I love that he included Sin Eater. The Death of Jean Dewolf is probably my favorite Spidey story.

I love John Allison. Scary-Go-Round was awesome, and his sequel/new webcomic Bad Machinery looks to be just as good.

John Allison is one of my favorites. He more than anybody inspired me to start a webcomic.

I was so sad to see SGR go. I wish I could get the first three books. He's become my favorite cartoonist currently putting out a new strip. Considering how much I love Starslip, Girls with Slingshots and Jonny Crossbones, that's saying something. I'm not as into Bad Machinery as I was SGR, but I think as I learn about the next gen characters, I'll get more into it.

Bad Machinery took about 3 weeks to hook me, but I'm really enjoying it. It's a different kind of comic than SGR, but I actually think it's better, tighter storytelling. I miss the old characters, but to be honest, SGR had abandoned a lot of what made me love it by the last year or so. I think he was wise to stop it before he got completely burnt out and move on to something new. This more long-form story structure is really working for me. And when Ryan or Amy or Erin(!) pop up in Bad Machinery, that's a nice bonus. :)

A lot of it's probably just because I was such a huge fan of The Boy and Esther (whom I had him draw in one of my collections.) I think I've gotten the hang of it, but for the first couple of weeks, especially, I was having a heck of a time just figuring out who was who (and therefore what was going on.)

I'm lucky enough to have bought all of the books he put out, even the short ones like Girl Spy and Scare-o-Deleria. When I found out that all the early stuff was out of print I was so glad I decided to buy the physical books- for a while I wavered, figuring I'd just read it online if I wanted, but then I wanted to support him and I'm glad I did.

The only one of his books I have is Ghosts, sadly. It was a particularly awesome birthday gift. But there is a pretty boss sketch of Hugo in the back telling me my "shapes has got to be crazy," at least. :) I'm thinking of getting book 8 when it comes out, tho'. The promise of crazy bonus content and a 2nd chance at the Erin Winters mini comic (now that she's mysteriously back) are hard to say no to.

Am I wrong or are the two girls Sarah Grote's little sister and her blonde friend? Their teacher is obviously Ryan, who has apparently married Amy. And didn't Sonny, Jack, and Linton discover Poh's cache of hidden mailmen?

It took me a bit to recognize them in the five years later form, but they were all characters from SGR.

Oh, I'm getting it for sure. Yeah, didn't Erin follow Bob Crowley into some weird Hell dimension place?

Yeah, they seem to be, if not aged characters, then characters that are related to SGR characters in a lot of cases. The wiki page helped me figure things out.

I'll be grabbing 8 mos' def. I might shell out for another sketch while I'm at it. (I also have an "Amy Acker ate my hamster" shirt that sadly has ended up with a couple of very mysterious stains on it.) :(

And yes, Erin got sucked into a hell dimension with Bob. A lot of people wanted that resolved only to find out it was in the mini-comic. (Which I don't have, either.)
