Already bought my ticket.

With San Diego becoming more and more unreasonably difficult to get into, it's so nice to have this terrific con so relatively close to my area. And the guest list just gets better and better each year (Joe Quesada this year!).

I agree with you on this, SDCC has become almost impenetrable and unmanageable. ECCC offers a great show at an affordable price. The guest list is always amazing. Can't wait.

I think we'll try going again this year. I drove down last year after not having driven for about four years and the stress, combined with the surprising amount of people there really overwhelmed me and we didn't stay very long.

I think the thing to do this year is take a couple vacation days and spend the weekend in Seattle rather than going down and back in one day.

Just read this about Stan Lee:

We've been getting a lot of questions regarding Stan Lee's appearance at the show, so coordinating with Stan, we are doing an autograph ticket pre-sale.

Autograph ticket for Stan Lee's SATURDAY ONLY signing are now on sale through Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets are $40.00 and each ticket entitles you to one (1) autograph from Stan "The Man" Lee - there is a limit of three (3) tickets per person. Here is the direct link:

http://www.brownpap ertickets.com/event/98792

After purchase, you will be e-mailed a confirmation and ticket number. Print this out and bring it along with your matching photo ID to booth #1105 and there you will receive your on-site autograph ticket.

You will be assigned a time slot for signing - this time will be e-mailed to you in advance so you can plan ahead and know when to show up for your autographs. You can show up for later signings, but not earlier ones, and your ticket will still be honored. This ensures that there is a set number of people per signing and everyone gets a chance to get their items signed in an orderly fashion. There will be no photos available during the signing times, there will be a separate photo opportunity with Stan Lee at the show.

Sometimes. Different sellers give different discounts, anywhere from none to as high as 50% sometimes. Most are in the 25% range though. You just have to browse around. Also, sellers usually raise the discounts on Sunday to get rid of stuff they don't want to take back.

This. TFAW usually sell out of the good books early because of their prices.

Another tip for first timers: tpbs by creators who are at the show usually sell out faster, especially the more popular books. So if you are looking to get books signed, either have the books already, or hit up the booths before they are gone. Last year, nearly every single vendor sold out of Mouse Guard volume 1. A lot of the Captain America books too.

Don't want to break your heart, but you technically can't see the Pacific Ocean from Seattle. Seattle is a port city on Elliot Bay, which is part of Puget Sound, which is connected to the Pacific. However, you can go across the water to Bremerton, and drive 3 hours west, and see the Pacific Ocean from the coast.

Got my hotel confirmation. Didn't feel like driving up to Seattle twice. Figured I'd just get a hotel, chill, and go out on the town for dinner w/Spidey. :D

Yay! I imagine that's best, right? Especially if there are after-con shenanigans?

I live within walking distance of the con. Very excited about how convenient that is.

I'm about to hop in a plane and go to Washington. I'm going to stay with my best friend and his awesome wife and 1 year old. Hang out with an old flame that is incredibly hot. And stay in one of the best cities of the world where I have had nothing but great times in.

Yet...

I'm most excited about meeting Bendis. Well Stan Lee actually, but either way...

I think I'm sick.

I've got a deadline I need to hit so I'm going to have to skip the cnvention. I'm so bummed! Boo-urns!

I'll be at the J table. I think J-02. Signing comics, doing sketches, selling pages, wearing pants.

That's all there is to it. If there is one show I'm going to next year this is it. I've never been there and so many cool peeps are always there. Hopefully I'll have some cool comic stuff to pimp then too. :)

Nifty show.

Definitely not Dragon*Con, but neat all the same. :)

Sad story: Had Bendis sign a bunch of my stuff, chatted it up and got a picture, but when I left the table, I realized he forgot to sign my Daredevil Omni! Not a big deal, but I was definitely :sad::sad::sad:

I saw Bendis, and learned that he sees this.

Seriously, though, talking to that guy at a con is always the best thing about the trip. My fuckin' hero. :)

What else? Saw the incredible Tim Daniel (to whom I owe a large chunk of my career-- Go Glories!), Loika, met Apsmo, realized I'm gonna be signing things with "I'm Gonna Fuck It!" for the rest of my life.

Good show.

Same here! I didn't know how to find people. Made me kinda sad actually. :(

I met Bendis for the first time as this was my first Comic Con as well. Totally legit and down to earth guy! What a great Sunday. Did anyone else get zombie survivor pictures taken at the Night Zero booth? I thought their whole concept was really fun, even if the actual book is lacking in depth and, surprisingly, style.

Was that the booth where they used actual photos in the comic instead of drawings?

Yeah! I liked the filtering effects and the whole zombie apocalypse in Seattle, but the actual book was very thin on dialogue, and the action frames were stiff and lifeless. Very B-Movie-ish. However, I think they can improve on the style and make something really cool out of it.

I dropped by the Image booth like three times looking for you! I had comics that needed "I'm Gonna Fuck It!" written on them!

I had fun hanging out at the arcane comics/backroom podcast booth watching those dudes do interviews all weekend.
Saturday was a mad house, Sunday was more chill.
Next year they expand to 3 days and hopefully its not on daylight savings time weekend again because that was a horrible idea.

Aw dang. Sorry dude. I was bouncing between the Image booth and the Shadowline booth, seems like this happened a lot.

Hands down coolest moment of the weekend.
Chatting with Ed Brubaker face-to-face about the SECRET AVENGERS tie-in I'm writing!!!

Absolutely stunning weekend...only left my table once!
Pat Loika, Adam Witt and Chris Page were great mates!

Pretty fun show. So cool to see Stan in person. I just wish there were more dealers there. That was the weakest back issue selection I've seen. I did manage to get a nice copy of Amazing Spider-Man 5 for $100, but that was really my only find...

Probably the best con experience I've had in a while. Sorry to everyone I didn't meet, I felt like I was on a mission to do certain things and probably missed out on saying hello to a lot of you. I'll try not to be such a jerk next time.

I got Jo Chen to sign my stuff and sell me her Devil May Cry stuff, and then sign that too. I was beaming for the whole rest of the weekend.

The UDON panel on Sunday was awesome. Did anyone else here go? It was small and comfy, the MC was very nice and informative (and I learned a lotta industry stuff from him) and we got free stuff!

Busy ass weekend!! It was so much fun though working with my boy Rahsan at his table. Got to meet CB, Nick and Phil Hester by just hanging onto his coat tails. We sold a lot of stuff, meet some great people and had a blast.

And I was able to add to the old collection as well. I got a bunch of pics to post on the pic thread.
