I went away for a couple of days for work... and I left the window open (it had a screen), when I got home yesterday the screen was torn and my cat was gone. The kicker? I live on the seventh floor of an apartment building. There was no body and the landlord said she never found a dead cat. So now my cat is gone. This sucks...
I put up posters and walked for like 5 miles in every direction around my apartment and called the humane society... NOTHING. I miss my cat.

Oh man, that sucks.
Try putting out some food. You never know, some cats are tough cookies.
I hope he shows up again.
who cares?

Awww, missing kitty. :(
Chris is right -- put out some food. We had a cat disappear on us a few years back, was gone for several weeks. We put out food and he eventually came back home.

hope things turn out the best, cats are probably the most resiliant pet in the world, so don't give up hope.

:( Poor kitty. And you live WAY up high so if he comes back you won't know. :( You should wait on the sidewalk in front of your building for him.
He's probably so scared. :(

She was only a year old. My uncles a vet and he said that she has a better chance of surviving from a fall of 70 feet as opposed to 40 feet. Something about more time to adjust.

That really sucks... I've lost quite a few cats over the years, and it's always tough.
But I also had a cat disappear for over a week, and come back fine... be sure to check with the shelters in your area. Good luck.

yeah, that's true, which is why i found the 7th floor part of your post interesting.
I agree with the above advice of leave food out, check with shelters, etc.

I hope you find him, I really do. I miss my cat even though he died a year ago...

You were gone for a couple of days and she got worried thinking you were lost. She's probably walking around putting posters up of you.
