Oh man, all of these Batman Black & White statues are gorgeous and I've resisted buying them... but I love this Frank Quitely statue!

That is pretty sweet. I have waaaaay too many Batman B&W statues, though (Mignola, Steve Rude, Mazzucchelli, Wagner and Bolland). Who has the room?

You should build a big cave and keep all of your trophies (y'know giant pennies, dinosaurs, costumes of dead sidekicks) in there.

You will stop at nothing to get me to slide down poles, will you?

And up them!

And then down them again.

I've said too much.

Mignolas and Popes are the best ones, IMO.

Must buy!

I'm a little disappointed by this. First, they obviously used the cover to Batman & Robin number one as the basis for the statue, and I'm not sure the composition of the piece looks right without a Damien-Robin to go with it.

Two, they turned the smile that Quitely drew into more of a scowl, and I really prefer the smile. It was different. Compare it to the original- http://www.popcultureshock.com/papes/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/batman-robin-1-quitely.jpg Also, seeing an image I'm so used to in color, now in black & white, just looks strange.

So, what should be a must-buy is now just a maybe. Hopefully, the eventual action figures will be more of my speed.

Not as big a fan as I am of the other Batman B&Ws but kinda cool.

Very nice. Wish I had a buncha these B&W, some of them are just great. This would definitely be one I would want to have if I had a collection.

I took too ling to pull the trigger on the Mignola piece. Someday I'll feel okay parting with the money to get it.

I was thinking that DC Direct changed the chin to reflect Quitely's take on Batman from JLA: Earth 2... but I flipped through the book and realized he has a similar angular chin.

Still, I think they might've changed it so it isn't Dick Grayson.

Damn, I love the accuracy of the statue.

I mean, I dig that it is accurate to Quitely's cover-art. I just don't dig how it turns out in result. It lacks energy, and is just a bland statue to me. But hey, I don't want to be a debby-downer! I generally love Quitely's art.

Yeah, looking at the two side by side, they really just fucked with the head. And that's what ruins it. The jaw is too square, the smile is gone, and the ears are little too short and floppy.

That's the most ruffled-up outer-underwear I've ever seen on a superhero statue. :)
