While reading a Kevin Feige article on io9 (http://io9.com/5342925/marvel-prez-leaks-avengers-movie-details?skyline=true&s=x), it briefly mentions Hawkeye being in Iron Man 2.

This is news to me.

I've only found sites reporting rumors of this as well as Black Widow's part during pre-production but at this point, wouldn't we already know if he's in the movie or not? We've already seen pictures of Black Widow but no sign of Hawkeye.

(Then again, I don't remember if Nick Fury's cameo in the first one was widely reported during pre-production.)

IIRC, that was kept pretty well under-wraps. i don't remember hearing about it until the movie came out.

while it can be fairly inaccurate on these things, IMDB does not list hawkeye in there, although it does list edward norton showing up as bruce banner, so large grain of salt all the way around, i guess.

i don't think it'd be difficult to introduce hawkeye in the avengers movie, though.

He should be in it as part of a superhero team with Iron Man like in the '90s cartoon, along with War Machine, Spider-Woman, Scarlet Witch and the Century.

What did that guy do again? His name should have been Rainbow Old Guy or something.

If it is indeed true- AWESOME!

Wonder who they'll be getting to be playing him then.

So now we know at least six characters who'll be appearing in the movie: Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Nick Fury and Black Widow. Given that Iron Man 2 is also introducing well-known Avengers character Hawkeye, it's a fair bet to assume he'll be a seventh... and we have a line-up that should be very familiar not only to fans of Marvel's early Avengers comics, but also Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch's Ultimates rebooted version. With Avengers screenwriter Zak Penn having previously said that Ultimates was a big influence on how he approaches this material, is it too early to assume that the first Avengers movie will be an adaptation of that particular series?

If true, I'd like to see the depiction along the lines of (Millar's, not Loeb's) Ultimate Hawkeye myself.

I'd like the depiction from Avengers Forever, shirtless but with a cloak and collar.

While we haven't heard more than vague rumours as to his appearence, it's not like he will definately have a major role or anything. Could just be in a dialogue with Fury or something, which could be fairly easy to keep under wraps to some degree.

Unpopular opinion time!

I wouldn't actually mind to better balance the team they made it an older version of Kate Spencer rather than Clint

I think he means Kate Bishop. The Young Avengers 'Hawkeye'.

I'm hoping he carries around a sword and wears a costume that a girl wore before him.

If true, I look forward to sassy cinematic universe Tony unleashing a near constant barrage of "you don't have any powers" jokes.

Atleast until Hawkeye conveniently saves everyone towards the end.

Just my insane mind at work

I just think the roster may be a bit female light if it's just Widow and maybe but probably not the Wasp

I definitely remember reading that Nick Fury would show up in Iron Man a number of months before the movie came out.

Seeing as how Ultimates Wasp is Asian, Munn might have a larger role than we suspect.

Hawkeye would be a good character for Avengers 2, definitely.

A distant cousin of Nick Spencer maybe?

Eh.

I like Munn, she's spunky but I'd rather just have Grace Park.

But then again, Grace Park is my knee jerk reaction to anything remotely asian.

DC's Manhunter. Currently the back-up in Streets of Gotham.

I like seeing Olivia Munn as much as the next geek, but the Marvel movie's greatest strength has been real actors playing the big characters so I I don't know that I'd want her to be Wasp or a female Hawkeye, though she does look right for either.

I would be all for seeing Hawkeye on the big screen.

I think it would be cool to see Munn playing Janet to some as yet unknown Pym, maybe just a cameo in Stark's lab or on the Triskellion maybe? Same could be said of Hawkeye. I really see them going for a spot on interpretation of Ultimates where we see Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Wasp, and Giant Man led by Fury with Black Widow and Hawkeye as the back-up. That's fine by me, as long as there are enough differences between the two properties.
