Is Spidey just throwing the horns, or is he out of web fluid, or what? Shouldn't webs shoot out when he does that?

I read somewhere that he has to tap twice to shoot webs. That's why when he makes a fist webs don't shoot out. I don't know if that applies to his organic shooters though.

assuming that split in his chest is his pectoral muscles, did parker wash the spider out of his costume?

edit to add: yeah, no more organic webs after quesada gave the finger to anything he didn't like about the last 20 years.

This cover is fantastic. The coloring and inking give it some kind of cell shading/cartoon rendering that I find amazing.
The inking on Spiderwoman's left arm is reddish for example instead of black.

If this kind of stuff is the overall direction Immonen is heading to for his NA, I expect fantastic stuff coming our way!

From the perspective that we're looking up at the picture, the spider symbol is over "the split" in his pectoral muscles, away from the viewer.

And "quesada gave the finger to anything he didn't like about the last 20 years"? Give me a break.

I don't think he wanted to give the finger to anything yet here's the man quoted from his cup of joe column :

what I’ve said in the past was that there were three genies that I wanted to get back in the bottle.

Cut down the number of mutants so that they became special again. See “House of M.”
Make the Marvel Universe as unpredictable a place as it was in the early 1960s. See “Civil War.”
Bring Peter Parker back to single status. See “One More Day.”

So, no hints necessary, so far all missions accomplished and it only took me close to ten years.
I’m so tired.

Just saying, to some it may appear as the man got rid of what he did'nt like on a personnal level. Hence the use of expressions such as "gave the finger" etc...

Imo he mostly did it to bring more in terms of character developpement and that's what happened.
I not debatting at all , I'm a JoeQ fan.
Sorry I made this thread slightly derail back to Immonen grandeur now :-) !

That's a lot for someone to read into "Bring Peter Parker back to single status." I understand that you're not debating, and I don't really mean to get on you, but if you don't agree with the poster's remark why are you explaining/clarifying it?

There's a button on the lower part of his palm. He can put his fingers there without pressing it.

my remark about "giving the finger to the last 20 years" is a opinion shared by many a spiderfan at the comicshop, including the owners. they used much stronger language to describe erasing peter's marriage as well as retconning many events (like harry's death) to "bring peter parker back to single status."

you don't have to agree with me, but can you admit that many a longtime fan were dismayed at how one more day proceeded as if many stories since 1987 never occurred?

i voted my objection by cancelling my subscription, and i'm not alone.

Well, you and the many a spiderfan at the comicshop (including the owners), keep on fighting the good fight!

let me ask you this: do you think that the drop in readership resulted in the reversal of ben reilly as "one true spider-man" or did editorial simply decide that was the wrong way to take the character?

is there a better way to show disapproval than to stop reading the book? surely a message board post is not going to affect sales or change canon.

do you think publishers are more concerned with getting younger readers than keeping the older ones who grew up reading comics and still do?

They were hoping to go Tashi Station to pick up some power converters. But they'll have time to waste with their friends later.

I think Marvel is happy with Spidey sales and you stopped reading a book that became the best it's been in decades because of said changes.

....Wait, what?

Seriously, I don't get it.

And are we still going on about the whole "OMD retconned tons of post-marriage stories out of existence" canard? That's simply not true. With the exception of the wedding itself, all the stories are still canon. Seriously, this is the "death panels" of OMD arguments, people.

I think that the stories should be enjoyed as they are and not to worry about past canon to show you what counts or not. Whatever you like is what you like from all the years.
