"White Chicks"
The Wayans Brothers and Sony are developing a sequel to the 2004 comedy "White Chicks," which will see Marlon and Shawn Wayans reprise their roles as sibling FBI agents posing as a pair of white ladies.

Keenen Ivory Wayans is on board to direct the sequel, which all three Wayans are writing. The logline for the new entry is being kept under wraps.

Rick Alvarez, the Wayans' long-time producing partner, is producing along with Joe Roth, under his Roth Films banner. Roth's Revolution Studios made the first movie, which Sony distributed.

The original was a surprise hit, grossing almost $70 million domestically from a budget of around $37 million.

The trio last worked together on "Dace Flick," which they acted in, produced and co-wrote with family members Craig Wayans and Damien Dante Wayans.

Keenan last directed 2006's "Little Man" while WME-repped Marlon can currently be seen on screens as Ripcord in "G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra."

Sony's Doug Belgrad and Jonathan Kadin are overseeing for the studio.

5 years later, and I'm glad they're taking their time. You don't want to rush a project like that, the story could suffer.

It's decisions like this that lead to government bail outs.

It must be becasue Marlon Wayans was such a hit in G.I. Joe. I hope Terry Crewes is back at least, that might get me to watch it when it comes on HBO.

Seriously. As much as people hate the movie it made money. A lot of money and making another only makes sense.

I'm really curious how they can duplicate this concept. How many times do FBI agents need to dress up as ditzy white girls?

But then, they managed a sequel for Big Momma's House....

Doesn't the FBI have any actual white girls of its own? Or even effeminate white guys? What leads them to dress up two black dudes as white girls TWICE?

Zero times. But that obviously didn't stop them from using the concept for the first movie.

Beat me to it (although yours is much funnier than mine would have been).

If two untalented white actors dressed up as black girls, I have a feeling they would be labeled racist.

I don't recall any, but I wasn't much a news watcher when that movie came out.
A more contemporary example, I don't think there was much outcry with RDJ donning "blackface" for Tropic Thunder.

You're right. It is funny when people to pretend to be something other than what they're born as just because the organization that they're part of tells them to do it.

My idea to use blackface as historical reference of depiction in a graphic novel about racism was frowned upon severely and close to being called racist, or would be perceived AS racist because I'm white.
