Long time, no post! My apologies, all. It's been hectic and strange but good. I hope to get back into a more regular posting and fan-interaction after the double whammy that is SDCC and Wizard World Chicago (2 cons in 10 days is...yeah...). For now, though, I wanted to do a quick update.

FIRSTLY, I wanted to thank everyone SO MUCH for their overwhelming support for New Avengers The Reunion. Writing this mini was a dream come true and everyone who worked on the book had a great time and I am so thankful that you guys saw that and enjoyed it as well. To answer a very commonly asked question- "WILL THERE BE A FOLLOW-UP?" look for news soon, I hope. David took a VERY well deserved vacation & I worked on a few things (see points below), but we've been emailing each other a lot lately & there are rumblings. We have a lot of potential stories to tell, it's just a matter of the right time & platform. In the meantime, Clint & Bobbi are found every month in NEW AVENGERS, are coming up in WAR MACHINE #8, and I cannot sing the praises of Brian's DARK REIGN: THE LIST - AVENGERS enough. As for more W.C.A., trust me, you WILL hear something as soon as there is anything definite, so keep your ears peeled.

What are all these Tweets & status updates about secret projects & upcoming books? Well, I have 2 one-shots in the can, both to be announced by the end of con season. One is a What If, but not ready to tell you what...yet. But let's just say I had some REALLY big shoes to fill. And I missed having Brian Reed as a co-writer!!! The other is a secret project that I cannot believe I got to write, and am VERY excited for you guys to hear about...soon. I know, I'm a tease. But it's crazy and the things I got to do...I am a VERY lucky man. It's double-sized, has two stories that fit together, each by a different artist, and I am really excited to see this come together. I can't wait for this to get announced!

What about this OGN? Yep, I'm working on an OGN with a friend of mine, an incredible painter named Janet Lee: http://www.j-k-lee.com/Home.html We've been friends for over a decade now, and she started painting a few years ago. I've always been a fan of her work, but this past Christmas, there were 3 different pieces I saw when I was visiting Nashville. In my mind, these three pieces fit into this bizarre modern (or is it past? Futuristic?) fairy tale. I came back to NYC and sent her an email about doing something together and we've been getting things in place. She came up last month for a retreat and we plotted out the story and she drew a ton of sketches and I started the script. It's going to be unlike anything I've ever written and anything she's ever drawn or painted. We're taking our time on this one, but hope to have something to show, even just a sampler, by the fall. It's a very exciting and unique project for me, and something I like coming back to when I feel like banging my head against a wall or just want to escape to a world that the two of us are creating. I can't wait to open it to visitors like you guys!

My monitor runneth over also with MORE work in the pipeline. I have a number of projects percolating right now. Most are in pitch stage, which is fine since San Diego/Chicago are coming up. I hope to be able to announce at least one more project by the end of the year.

So, yeah, just a few things happening. LOL (none of this takes into account the personal life stuff we all have- which is going great, thanks). I do need to get back to some work now. SDCC prep calls...and so does this pitch that a certain someone wants...and I need to type up a proposal to add to an existing character's backstory that may raise a few eyebrows...and the double-sized project needs one last script pass...

Jim

You know you have my help to pimp whatever comes up in the next few months sir!

Also looking heavily forward to War Machine #8 as I'm sure greg followed through with some tigra/bobbi friendship which I wish you got more time with.

Glad to hear you've been busy with projects though Jim! Hope to see you if I can make it to Chicago, not a definite yet sadly.

Not I, unfortunately. But if you come any of the Toronto cons, I usually try to get to those! :)

Any chance of coming out to California for the Long Beach ComicCon in October? You will be in the West Coast Avengers backyard.

After reading New Avengers The Reunion I'll be looking for anything you put out. Excellent read, it was like a good movie script brought into comic book format.

I do indeed have ONE project being announced this weekend. And that's the one that is already finished as far as the script goes. LOL I still am outlining another, tweaking the script on one, and finalizing the details of yet another. 2010 will be a big year for me I think! Or at least a busy one...

Can't say what it's for, but I just write the craziest, coolest, freakiest script I've ever written & I loved it! And there will be more to come!

(Before you ask, nope, can't say what for, but you'll know after the holidays.)
