A good first issue, although I was surprised that we actually spent so little time with the Legion members themselves (we're six pages in before any of the Legion appears), given that there are only 3 issues to work with! However it was still an interesting start to the series and set things up nicely for the rest. Tiger Shark definately had some nice spotlight and more character exploration than we usually see with him.

It looks like Grim Reaper and Nekra are a couple again--I guess her love and lust for him trumps any grudge she may have about him stabbing her to death a few years ago...

No mention of Absorbing Man's wife Titania. Hmmm. I wonder if she has anything to do with his mysterious reasons for joining the group?

This is definately a very heavy-hitter roster of the Lethal Legion in terms of brute strength--Simon, Tiger Shark, Nekra, Mr Hyde, Absorbing Man and Grey Gargoyle! Unfortunately, they don't have a lot of power diversity...which could come back to bite them on the butt.

Poor Wonder Man isn't getting a lot of respect from Tiger Shark...but then, that's not too surprising. For some reason, a lot of villains (and even some readers) only seem to regard Cap, Thor and Iron Man as the "real" Avengers and worthy of respect...and Simon being an actor and a "pretty boy" causes even more villains to mock him. But geez--the guy is Thor's equal in terms of raw strength! Tiger Shark's personal baises are clearly winning out over his brain if he thinks there is shame in getting beaten by someone of Wonder Man's strength and experience level! *L*

Anyway, I am really looking forward to seeing part 2!

Hey Dermie-- glad you enjoyed the first iss. And by now you can see that all the Legion members will get their own face time as each issue features a few of the group telling their side of things.

Yes, Grim Reaper and Nekra are a couple again. And we do address the "he killed her" thing in the 3rd iss.

I always figured there would've been a pride thing amongst the villains by who you got taken out by. If it's a "name brand" like Cap or Thor or IM, so be it, it happens. But I figured getting beaten by one of the "lesser" (and no, we're not necessarily talking about power here) Avengers/ heroes/ whatever might be something the other cons broke your balls about

I get that--but when you think about it, it also kinda explains how some of them get their asses kicked so easily. I mean, if you're dismissing people like Wonder Man, She-Hulk, Monica Rambeau, etc, (and even less powerful but still experienced and capable heroes like Wasp, Hawkeye, etc) as being "lesser" because they aren't the big names, then they definately are going to underestimate them.
