My fiance is leaving town next week to stay in Florida (where our wedding will be at the end of the month) for the next few weeks. That means that on the 12th (my birthday) I will be in town all alone.
So for my birthday present this year she bought me a ticket to see Bill Cosby in Frisco (suburb of Dallas) TX.
I've wanted to see Cosby since I was a little kid. Truly on of the greatest stand up comics of all time.
I'm super stoked to see him.
Has anyone else seen him in concert before?

My parents saw him not too long ago. Apparently he was great, I wouldn't know, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T TELL ME ABOUT IT.

Apparently he does a long set, and it's all killer, no filler.

Saw him years ago (his first performance after Ennis was killed) and he was hilarious. I've seen some really funny comedians. Jeffery Ross, Lewis Black, Jim Gaffigan, Zach Galifianakis, Demitri Martin... And Cosby was probably the best.

That's weird... I loves me the Cos, but when he was recently on Letterman, he made no sense whatsoever and I didn't laugh once. He was like Cosby doing an impersonation of himself.

That's cool. Let us know how it is

I saw him a few years ago. He's absolutely hilarious, and he went for over two hours with no break.

Watch Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock speak about him in Jerry's film, "Comedian." They're having drinks discussing work and Chris talks about seeing Bill onstage.
Rock tells Jerry that he did two hours straight, everything new. And Jerry just stares at Chris with a look of disbelief. Then he tells Rock "All new?" Rock says "He KILLED" and then did slow motion jabs as he said "BAMMMM...BAMMM....BAMMMM..."
It's a great scene.

I have seen that movie. I now remember that scene. It was cool to see those two comedy legends in awe of someone they looked up to.

I saw him last summer. He was funny as hell. I could sit and listen to him talk for hours (and I did). I laughed my ass off.
speaking of 'classic' comedians, I just got tickets to see Joan Rivers in Boston in October.
Say what you will about her plastic surgery look, but the last time I saw her (about 5 years ago) my side hurt so much from laughing. I had a great seat by the stage, but all I could see was the floor under me, as I was doubled over with laughter.
She is funny, bitchy, sarcastic, selfish, fearless, and faceless. Catch her if you can. You will not be disappointed.

Leaving in just a few hours. Gonna be a hell of a night. Driving there ... seeing the show ... and driving back so I can be at work in the morning. Can't wait.

I just rewatched Himself a couple days ago after having not seen it in probably 20 years. The first bit of it was horrible. I was shocked...he went on forever about drunk people having different walks depending on what they drank and a bit about people getting high that I was astounded at. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Then he got to his wife in childbirth and finally life with his children and it was just has hysterical (if not moreso) than I remembered it being. Just laugh out loud funny.
Although he made several references to his son being killed or needing to die that I sort of cringed at now that his son was murdered.

In preparation for the show I spent last night watching The Cosby Show.

Really? I thought the first part was hilarious.

I agree. The start is funny ... but the family stuff is really much better.
