Too long of a wait. Can we get it moved up to a Monday shipment? It happened for Cappy 600.

Who has the power to make those decisions?

It’s the best superhero action movie never made -- and as we know, good superhero movies should always come back with an even better a sequel. (4.5/5 stars)

If the goal of this book was to reintroduce Mockingbird to readers and give some meaning to her relationship with Hawkeye in the present-day Marvel Universe, then it's achieved what it set out to do. I'll be interested to see whether the characters' new status quo at the end of the series will be reprised for further adventures, either in the pages of New Avengers or in another dedicated miniseries or one-shot. There's certainly a lot of potential here either way.

Not only does this issue start out with one of the coolest and most creatively brutal fight sequences I’ve read in a long time, it ends on such a superb note that if Marvel doesn’t give Jim McCann an ongoing series with these two, they’re nuttier than Squirrel Girl shit. The dialog is direct, clever, crisp, AND realistic. The characterization is spot on. McCann knows these characters and their deep and rich history. One of my favorite miniseries I remember as a kid was HAWKEYE’s first mini. Not only does NEW AVENGERS: REUNION remind me of that near perfect mini, it makes me want to reread it, then reread this mini again. Fun stuff in a Mighty Marvel Manner that I didn’t think was still possible from the House of Ideas.

I liked the previous issues, but #4 was absolutely perfect. Great action, dialogue, characters, and an ending that has me hopeful for the future of Clint/Bobbi and the WCA.

Perfect ending I think. I gotta admit, I REALLY loved the fact that while Clint is the leader of the New Avengers, he's a subordinate to Bobbi in the WCA, though they're on both teams. I'd really like to see that explored in some book in the future.
I will say though, if this gets picked up as an ongoing, or if there's a sequel in the works, I really hope Lopez can stay on as artist. His sense for fluid movement is perfect for these two characters. Too many times I've read a great mini series only to have the follow up lose something important from a shift in art teams. I'd really like that to not be the case here if a follow up comes.
That's of course not a knock on the writing. I just think the art and writing compliment each other so well in this case that the book itself might lose something from a loss of one OR the other.
Y'did great Jim. Can't wait to see what else you've got coming up :D

Hey Jim - Congrats on a GREAT mini-series. I am so thrilled Mockingbird is back and I really hope to see more of Hawkeye and Mockingbird teaming up from you and Marvel.
I have one enormous quibble. And it is important that you look into getting this fixed for the collected edition. The West Coast Avengers Compound was/is not in Malibu. It is in my hometown of Rancho Palos Verdes some miles south of Malibu. And as a huge fan of Hawkeye and the West Coast Avengers having this team in my backyard was a pure joy. I just re-read several West Coast Avengers issues and Force Works and in both series the Compound was in Palos Verdes. Do you think it can be fixed? I may be more inclined to buy the collected edition to go with my floppies if this gets corrected.
Great series all around though. Love Mock's new look and hope to see more of it.

It's been a fun ride. And with those Chen covers, what else could ask for?

Hey Jim...just wanted to say you did a really great job on the whole series, they'd be mad not to give you an order for more. I'm so glad Bobbi's return was handled by someone who cared about the character. And when they were on the old WCA compound...sigh...that was an emotional punch too. Perfect place to set that conversation.
One question...were the sightings of Bobbi in hell ever addressed, or is that more of a "You can't believe everything you see in hell" kind of situation? Frankly, I'm fine with that explanation, just wondered if there was anything further.
Man, I'm sad that we aren't going to have any more issues to discuss on here. Oh well, now that the mini's over hopefully they can be featured more heavily over on the mothership. At least until that new series starts up !

Now that Jim is back I want to post this again because it still bugs me a month later. Any chance of fixing the homebase for the West Coast Avengers?

TOTALLY getting fixed! I had Palos Verdes & then it came time to type that locator caption and for some reason, I put Malibu. My fault!

Correction made. "Palos Verdes" fit rather than "Rancho Palos Verdes", so I hope that's ok to the population! ;)
