RAPTURE is anything but esoteric. It's my favorite job (and comic) at the moment. Love story in a post-apocalyptic world with a reluctant heroine separated from her boyfriend by a continent, cannibalism, and insanity, combined with awesome action.

What I really dig about the book is how the individual issues intertwine, shedding more light on scenes from previous books instead of going for a straight timeline narrative.
