Four specials this year (in fact three if the last one runs over to New Year's Day). First up is PLANET OF THE DEAD, this Saturday, starring David Tennant, Michelle Ryan and Lee Evans.

The next special is scheduled for "November-ish".

And this morning Russell T Davies announced that the Doctor's companion for the two-part Christmas special will be...

Bernard Cribbins - also known as Donna's gramps, Wilfred Mott.

Is this coming on in the U.S., or do I have to rely on the internets?

The trailer for "Planet of the Dead" (don't worry I found one that's viewable outside the UK):

I don't think there will be any extra clips or trailers because they only finished editing it last night!

I hope Space keeps airing these specials. They treat the show better than CBC.

Space does treat the show with more respect, but at least cbc shows it in HD. Space has only aired the one Christmas special so far, but I hope they continue. I'd be happy if the aired reruns.

That is very cool about

Wilf joining the Doctor! It could be very interesting considering they're both grandfathers (maybe we'll get some juicy tidbits about Susan?). Or maybe it'll be The Bucket List in space. Either way, right on.

I'm just thrilled to see that actor take the co-starring role :)

Want a tantalising set photo of that actor (therefore mildly spoilerish) from the Christmas special?

Heh. For a minute I thought you didn't know his name. I was all "look it up on google!!" but then I got it that you were protecting the spoiler..

Man.. long day.. my noodle is fried..

There is definitely some interesting Who coming our way this year.. gonna be a helluva ride.

For any 6th Doctor fans, they are going to be releasing audio from the Series that never was.. Scripts were written, but never filmed and then a different direction was taken. These are the audio dramas from those lost scripts.. I wish more shows would do that.

Very nice, even if the ending did drag to Return of the King proportions.

Special #2: "The Waters of Mars" co-stars Lindsay Duncan as Adelaide.
