View Full Version : Sequential Stutter- My new site!

I finally have a site of my very own. It's going to be both an online portfolio, place to buy things I make, and (near) daily web comic.

The first comic is up... for those of you that follow the Rosen Vs. thread, I use to post a semi regular journal comic... well Monday is reserved for the weekly recap in that style.

Tues and Thurs. are the namesake comic. I'll be having a new guest writer for every strip. This site's Nick MB and Patton are the first up to bat.

Wed. I'm bringing back History Reimagined. Do a search for the original thread on this board if your curious, but I need a some new suggestions. Check out the Blog/News/Words for details on that.

Friday will be the introduction of a new concept I'm working on to make comics more interactive and get the reader more involved in the creative process, called The Option.

So... if you get bored... Give it a gander... still a few tweaks to make, but it's up and running.

http://www.sequentialstutter.com (http://www.sequentialstutter.com/)

Thanks.

Looks very cool, Aaron. I like how you designed it using your art and handwriting as opposed to the more techie look that most websites have. It really gives the site a more human touch and shows off your skill better than the more traditional route would.

I'll definately be checking it out on a regular basis. And probably submitting strips at some point, as well.

Well... my computer is in the shop... so I wasn't able to start The Option yesterday, but there is an updated friends section (I'm looking at you Patrick and Nick... and you too Criden if you give me an address ;) ) and an open store now. So, there is some newness, just not the newness I was necessarily hoping for.

This strip scared me a bit at first... your monster script, my lack of super hero work, the "TEAR IN THE FABRIC OF SPACE AND TIME" (you're right, it is fun to type), but I ended up having a blast with it. Sorry no color, got crunched for time.

Hey, that's okay! When I wrote it, I was expecting just a black & white strip.

And, yeah, if you're still accepting seconds, I promise the next one won't be quite so confusing. I was just feeling experimental. :)

Alright dumb question I never wrote anything like that before. You have a sample of what the script should look like?

you can make as loose or tight as you want. If you have a real specific vision feel free to tell exactly what going on in every panel. If you just have a loose idea, it could be as simple as "man walks into a bar, hit head"...

I'm pretty open to however you want to present it and any genre. Just keep in mind it needs to a story that can be told in 3-6 panels or one page.

Alright dumb question I never wrote anything like that before. You have a sample of what the script should look like?

I see that you already wrote it but here's the gist, just fyi:

PAGE 1

Panel 1- Spider-Man kicks a kitten.

SPIDER-MAN
Get outta here kitten! No one likes you!

Panel 2- Close up of kitten. Kitten sad.

Panel 3- Kitten walks along the city streets, at night.

Panel 4- Kitten stops and looks down an alley way.

VOICE (from alley)
Kitten! Oh, kitten! Come here!

Panel 5- Kitten walks down alley way, reluctant.

Panel 6- Something in the shadows talks to kitten.

VOICE (from shadows)
Spider-Man has angered you. I know the feeling. He
has angered me as well.

VOICE (cont'd)
Together we can defeat him!

Panel 7- The black symbiote comes out of the shadows and envelops the kitten.

KITTEN
Mrowww!

Panel 8- Venom Kitten is born!

Just one of the many ways you can do it.

Well I sure wouldn't worry about the design side of things - your site is damn good-looking and well laid-out.

I think another good marketing idea is doing a few small 1-3 panel strips that people can use in their sig. Stuff that really grabs. Some of my favourite online comics (American Elf, BEN's site, etc.) I discovered just by clicking on peoples' sigs when they made me laugh or curious.

I took me until today to realize that these aren't stand-alone strips and that there's a narrative running through them. :surrend:

I will also say that I'm going to be out of town this weekend... So I won't be able to post for the Rosen Vs. thread anniversary on Sat but I will have my contribution on monday.

I love the League of Ordinary.

PS: I do want to do that rolodex comic idea, and I'm trying to come up with a suitable story.

I really hope you do the rolodex thing. I think it's genius.

I'm changing the format up a bit...

Not going to do daily uploads anymore. I'm going to post strips and longer format comics when I can.

That being said... I'm working on a three page script by Jason Hissong right now. It's all scifiy and spacey. Fun fun fun!

I'm trying not to pimp on the site to a ridiculous extent, but..

Not only am I offering super cheap commissions.... I'm offering them in FULL COLOR, brushed ink for a very brief (as in the next several purchases) amount of time.

I want to buy comics again... and times is rough. Scoop 'em up while you can. Hope this is cool.

Wow. I really like your style. I love your sites format. I shall stay tuned in! Maybe I will even get inspired/motivated to get my site up/live. (been in the works for about a year)
