God, I want the second Absolute sooooo bad.
It's kind of weird to be this excited about a wrap-up issue.

So if the final issue is done...how long till the final trade?
BenC (formerly Ape-X)

Even with the issue (hopefully) looming on a nearer horizon it'll still be awhile before we see an Absolute. Issue, hardcover, trade, Absolute...that's the way they do it right? Also, how many issues are on tap for vol.2? Do you think they'll add the crossovers (Planetary, JLA, Batman) and make it TWO more Absolutes?

Great news. This is one of my favorite books ever, and I almost completely forgot about it. I thought the last issue was a bit anticlimactic, but I can't wait to reread the whole thing it when it's finally completed. It really is one of the best comic series ever produced.

Well, considering there is already an Absolute vol 1, I don't think it'll be that far off. DC probly recognizes that people will be holding off on the trades to pick up Absolute vol 2.
Vol 2 would be from issue 13 to 27.
It's Cassaday.
But anyways great news. Tomorrow sees the release of Wolverine Magazine number one, and at least on some sites Cassaday is amusingly mentioned as it's author. I suppose he's just done the cover, or maybe he has drawn the puzzles and games too...

My LCS had a copy of Volume 1 forever. I went up on a Saturday, finally deciding to pop full price for it since it had gone OOP and nobody had it at a reasonable price anymore. They had sold it sometime in the last week.

Actually I did awhile back. Mainly because though I loved the Absolute edition, I realized that I never actually open it that much, because it's a lot more awkward to read. The regular sized HCs are easier to enjoy. However, I still have my Absolute Authority, mainly because I can't stand the printing of the regular sized tpbs.

I think it's supposed to be double-sized.
And printed on chromium with ink made in Kiss' blood.
Also, if you read it upside down, Yog-Shogoth comes out of a tear in the universe being ridden by Grant Morrison and Ambrose Chase.

Well obviously the part about the final issue being splash pages of crotch kicking is a joke...but the part about the obnoxious use of Elijah kicking people in the crotch? Not at all. Surely I'm not the only one who found all the kicks in the balls a bit out of place and stupid? This isn't America's Funniest Videos.

i'm waiting (and hoping) that dc resolicits the first absolute along with the second absolute whenever it comes out. The half priced books by my house has the first absolute. they wanted $300 for it a year ago and just dropped the price to $200.

Yeah, it sucks when Half Price Books actually charges a shitload for a book, going by what it's selling on Ebay or Amazon Marketplace. Like the OHC of Jack Kirby's Eternals, they were charging $150 for it at the one on the north side of Indy. That one is notorious for doing that, the others, not so much...except if it's a Spider-Man comic from the 60s.

He'll revamp the Newsboy Legion into a bunch of mopey loners obsessed with their hometowns. And one's a viking.
In Brian Wood's Suicide Squad, they'd actually end up killing themselves.

Vol 2 would be from issue 13 to 27.
And DC also recognizes that the people waiting for the Absolute can wait six months or two years, and making them wait two years increases the chances of double-dipping.

There's been so many people that have jumped on to this series mid way through, I hope they not only release an Absolute Vol. 2, but also just release the whole fucking thing in one big ass beautiful book. 1000+ pages of Planetary goodness.

Does that mean the entire run will never be collected in one place? :(I don't believe that there has been an absolute edition collecting more than 20 issues in a single volume. Most are twelve issues or fewer.
Marvel has been much more likely than DC to publish volumes big enough to contain this series. I know of very few from DC.
