stumbled upon this tonight, apparently Revolver mag scored a bootleg from some band I've never heard of, and is playing it on their site.
click the link, listen to the song, prepare for pain (also in link is interview with the band that made the song)
ORAKULUM by SUNN 0))) (http://www.revolvermag.com/node/2709)
That is the most hardcore buffering message I have ever seen.

Sunn 0))) have become a really influential band that started out as doom-metal and are now mostly thought of as a ambient-noise piece that are suddenly well-respected among artistic/intellectual elites in Europe.

I find Merzbow

and
otto von schirach

more painful.

I'm not trying to be a dick but can you really name a member of the intellectual elite in Europe who suddenly really respects them? I'm not saying you can't but I'm interested to see your answer.

The audio portion of this (http://www.showstudio.com/projects/transmissions/transmission.php/12497) was later released as the album "Oracle". The salt sculpture is on the cover.
The band also added Oren Ambarchi, who is a respected experimental guitarist that circulates in more "arty" performance venues than Sunn 0))) did at one point.
But no, I can't name a single person in that group who has gone on the record as being a Sunn 0))) fan, because they don't belong to a social class that I am a part of.
EDIT: Unless you count Violette Banks.

Interesting.
I really wasn't trying to be antagonistic. I was genuinely interested in your response.

Uhm.
Huh.
It sounds like the intro to a really good metal song, that just forgot to get to the actual song itself.

Yup, that's what Sunn 0))) is like these days. Extended, ambient-noise instrumental pieces.
They've driven-away lots of metal purists and adopted lots of experimental/avant-garde fans over the years. I have to say I'm one of the latter.

Meh, I would be in the former then.
Metal is not really my genre to begin with, but that too me, would get old kind of quick.

Well, that's one reason why Sunn 0))) collaborate with other metal bands.
In fact, you might like the Sunn 0)))/Boris album Altar because it's got a bit of everything (including folk!)

I like Boris, though.

Some website had a low-grade video of the show where he drove the backhoe through the clubhouse wall; not on youtube, unfortunately, and no sound as I recall. Could probably be googled.

yes you did. Ape x made a thread about comics falling behind video games. You posted a pic of an ambulance trying to be funny but you came off more irritating. Its cool though. You tried, im not sure you didnt intentionally try to come off caddy.
Anyways, click the link before you comment on my post. In other words, look before you speak. MAK15 got the joke.

I love me some experimental/avant-garde music, but Sunn 0))) bores me to tears. I want at least a little something that'll get my attention. Incidental background noise just doesn't excite me much.

That was not a comment on the price of comic books at all. I didn't share my opinion on four dollars single issues, just suggested that teens don't choose them as something to spend their money on.
I got the joke, too: Limp Bizkit is un-listenable: Hence my response underlining your own point.
And thanks for the lecture: Because I haven't gotten enough of that kind of treatment in the last few hours.

Well I don't defend that band too strongly because I listen to a lot of boring, unlistenable pretentious experimental avant-garde shite and it's not everyone's cup of tea.
And anyway, Boris and as mentioned Dead Raven Choir are lots more fun.
And on the lighter side of things: Grails are an amazing band.

Aphex Twin's "Ventolin" can be hard to listen to, especially if you have a sound system with good hi's.
