Mac users - Best picture editor?

At work, I use a PC and there's the Microsoft Picture Editor which is great at being able to thumbnail and scroll through the pics - arrange easily, elete is nec, weed out duplicates, etc.

I'm looking for something similar for my mac at home.
The version of iPhoto I have (old) is way too slow.
What are the alternatives?

A good photo editor for the MAC is iPhoto which is part of the bundled iLife program. It comes free with any new MAC computer.

I use Adobe Bridge, but it really isn't a stand alone product.

Um... photoshop?

if you want simple and basic go with iPhoto. if you want more advanced use Photoshop or Aperture.
