Being a media major in college I can honestly tell people that Ed Brubaker has a point. Porn has pushed almost created all forms of technologies. Porn was the reason why blue ray is the next dvd. For every nickelodeon, their was an x rated theatre. Even back when they created the printing press, someone probably found a way to recreate dirty picture to support their book club. i know their is alot more, but im tired and cant remeber the class I took two years ago. So, what the next thing porn can help create......

There's still a lot of truth to the theory though. A lot of people went with HDDVD because porn backed it which is why Blue Ray's victory was surprising. It was the Playstation 3 that sealed that deal though.
Doesn't Klosterman address this in Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs?

The thousands of porn clones of YouTube do!
(Surprisingly, last I checked there is no BoobTube. But I'm sure it's been created by now.)
i really feel that this is possibly the truest thing i have come across in some time.
