John,

Any prospect of a Garth Ennis Word Balloon show? I know he's not exactly omni-present on the net, but he has done the occasional podcast interview in the past. I would love to hear you talk with him about his career. Without wishing to sound like a kiss-ass, you are probably the most professional interviewer of creators out there. Sometimes podcast hosts can get a wee bit starstruck with their interviewees, but you are innocent of that charge! And, it seems to me, that would mesh quite neatly with Ennis's flavour of laconic, healthy Irish cynicism. Could make for interview paradise!!!

Or, and this might sound a tad mischievous given recent net buzz, but I would happily pledge my first-born if Word Balloon hosted Garth Ennis and Bill Willingham debating what super-hero comics should or shouldn't be!!!

Yeah, I know, that will never happen, but what a lovely thought...

While we're at it, let's add Orson Scott Card and Warren Ellis to that Crossfire, shall we?

Preacher is evil. And magnificent. You will laugh your ass off for the most part. In other parts, it is genuinely distrurbing, but the recurring motif is 100% top notch comics experience. And it hasn't aged a bit. Enjoy!

Out of curiosity, did you ever read Hitman? That was the only DC title that I had the entire run of (canceling after 60 issues makes that accomplishment far too easy, granted).

Don't feel bad John I still haven't read it either. I also still need to read Y the Last Man. I am currently reading my Punisher - Garth Ennis Omnibus which I bought thanks to your sponsor Instocktrades.com.

I, for one, would LOVE a Garth Ennis interview. Ennis/Dillon together would be insane and my head would explode from their combined interviewy might.

I just finished my Garth Ennis Punisher Omnibus. Awesome I think I'll buy the MAX hardcovers next. I heard today that in June Preacher Volume 1 issues 1-12 will be released in hardcover. I'll wait and buy it then.

I'm afraid of Garth Ennis. I met him briefly at San Diego back in ummm 92? It was right after or at the end of his run on Hellblazer but I think before Preacher.

I had just wandered through the DC booth and saw his name on his badge. I tried to introduce myself and say how much I loved the Hellblazer "Bad Habits" storyline. But I just stumbled on my words and mumbled something. I've never had a reaction like that before, I just couldn't get mind and mouth to work together. I forget exactly what I said, but he got a disgusted look on his face that just yelled "go away ya wanker" so I did. Afterward, I remember thinking about what I said and realizing that the praise I had meant to convey sounded more like an insult.

So anyway, I would love a Garth Ennis WB interview as well as long as he doesn't go into a story about how this guy insulted him at a convention.

So John, have you finished Preacher yet? You should also check out the Punisher MAX run, as it is one of the more important milestones in Ennis' career for the last five years. Anyway, is the interview on the horizon, or how long do we have to wait?

Btw, am I wrong to remember you saying one time that you approached him at last years Comic Con, and Ennis shouted "No!", or was this another creator?

Anyway, I would love to listen to a talk between the two of you, so I'm just crossing my fingers.

Yeah The Boys is absolutely incredible. Ennis is really taking his time with the characters, and it works like hell. The last issue blew me away, but I'd like to see less fill-in artists on the book.

And don't get me started on Crossed.

Okay, let's hope Avatar can help out then. If it works out, I hope there's a chance for a couple of reader questions.

Readers questions for Ennis. Now there's an inspired idea!
