Seriously, you guys know that I live in a comic news vortex.
I've never heard of Marc or anything about the Manhunter book, but quite a few guys whose comic opinions I trust (like JABSEN and MoonWing, for instance) seem to be big fans.
What's the book about? Does Marc write or draw? Who's doing the other work on the book?
Thanks.

First of Marc writes it.
The basic premise is the story is about a D.A who loses a case against a absolutely guilty Meta. She stumbles into the Evidence room and finds the old Manhunter's equipment.Takes law into own hands.
That's not even close to selling how great it is though.Marc manages to write the lead as a very real person with faults.Going through a divorce and instead of making her overly sympathetic like some writers might. You atually feel for her ex.
Oh and the art is killer

Light Spoilers (at least in my opinion)!
The title character, Kate Spencer, is very similar to that of Jessica Jones. She's a real human in Marc's hands and has a lot of faults. She's not perfect by any means, and for that reason alone, she's very interesting. She also hunts villains. She stalked the Shadow Thief for quite some time and has come out of fights on the losing end.
She has an interesting supporting cast, including a divorced husband and estranged son, as well as a tech guy who helps with her equipment. In all honesty, I wish the title would focus on her family dynamic a little more because it is very interesting.
But my favorite thing about the title is the pacing. It reads very quickly and has a surprising amount of tension building. So many people are against Spencer and want to bring her down. She has heat coming at her from all sides and subplots that are executed very effectively. These alone would keep me on the book. I have become greatly invested in the character and want to know where all of these trials she has been facing are going to lead her.
However, this isn't necessarily a book you want the kids to read. So tell 'em not to get handsy.

Cool. I'm probably too late to pick up the early issues I'm guessing; most likely sold out.
Any word on if they'll be collected in a trade?

I better not sell you on Manhunter, my store continues to increase its preorder numbers and we reorder it and we STILL SELL OUT! So the book seems to be selling itself, not in the numbers it should yet, but I have a feeling it will get there, especially if DC releases a trade soon.
