Hmm, I think I might have sleep apnea.

That would explain that episode I had yesterday while I was sleeping. I always assumed it only affected people who were overweight, apparently I was wrong.

Anyway, gotta get myself checked out. Tired of all this "What if?" stuff my mind keeps pumping out.

EXACTLY! However weird it sounds, looking this stuff up is actually putting my mind at ease, I don't know why exactly, but I already feel better about it.

Anyway . . . I'm hungry, I should have eaten something this morning but I was rushed out of the house.

Of course on Solitary, they've now had 20 courses of food...so watching all that's made me a tad less hungry.

Maybe a new untested team isn't what you want to throw against an island of united X-Men and Brotherhood mutants, all looking to protect Magneto. Then again, maybe it's the perfect solution! And maybe it wouldn't be so bad to stay on this world longer, given what the NEXT one has waiting.

Ah, neat. As far as jobs go, there are certainly worse ones out there.

My first job was summer job working for a Youth Opportunities program in Baltimore. We made summer lunches for youth camps. This meant I would take 2 buses at 5:30 in the morning to go drain meat juice into a hole in the ground in a huge freezer. It was miserable. Baltimore summers get to be about 95 on average during the hottest months. I would have to wear a huge sweater and hoody; to make matters worse, I had really long hair and had to wear a baseball cap with a ponytail sticking out of the back. I'm sure I looked like a PCP burnout walking down Baltimore St. in my hoody and sweat pants. Going from extreme cold to extreme hot was also terrible for my skin and made me really itchy, thus reinforcing the drug addict image. Nothing is worse than getting splashed with ham liquids and having it freeze on your shirt and shoes only to have it melt in the summer sun making your shirt soggy and reeking of rancid processed meats.

It was a program that my mom set up in her early years of working for the Baltimore City's Mayor's Office of Employment and Development (she's been there for 31 years now). It was also my older brother and sister's first job so it is kind of tradition.

I think I have been really lucky this far.

under the table at a comic shop, one job in retail, two at call centers and then my current one.

As far as worst of those, totally working for Circuit City. The hours sucked, and the customer's were douches, and I really really hated it.

I may be a bad person for this, but I was actually not unhappy when I heard the company finally went under.

He's been aged/de-aged. Powered/de-powered. What is his exact age, and then take that in comparison with his sister's age. Also, is he still technically a mutant that will have powers at some point in the future when he becomes a teen? Very perplexing. And really, he could so be a viable legacy character for Marvel when they have so few.

As of Secret invasion he and Valeria seemed to be young kids again, around I would say 8 - 10. But then, I don't read FF enough to know for sure.

And yeah, if they ever decided to treat him seriously, it could be a good legacy character.

Are there any other new ones currently? Even the younger ones seem like they have been around for decades now.

There were more then a few times when I worked for T-Mo that I had my finger on the cancel button just waiting for them to say those magic words.

I work retention, so it's my job to attempt to save them. However, you often get chronic complainers or people fishing for free stuff that they think they can get by threatening the retention department with leaving.

With those I make my required two attempts to save, then go, "Ok, give me one second I'll cancel your account" and almost always that is followed by "No, no, no, not right now, I'll call back" or "I have to talk to my wife first" or some excuse. It can even turn into them getting in a sort of panic state, going "You haven't canceled my account already, have you?" which is laighable given the previous 15 minutes of them complaining that they've had it with us and were gone.

Yesterday was priceless. This guy threatened to cancel his account, wanted fr4ee this, free that and I finally said as you wish, no problem, then he said he was also going to cancel his business account which had hundreds of people on it. I said, "Ok, can I have the account number for your business account so I can cancel that, too?" He hung up.

That's almost as much fun as the ones who claim they know people in the company, that they can have me gone in a week. They ask for my employee number, which I give them with friendliness, ask them if their is anything else I can do for them and still deny them what they want. They usually hang up when they see their little threat has not worked. Been there 3 1/2 years, never received word of a single complaint about me. Why would I? No one is ever going to fire me for failing to give away six months free service to a deadbeat customer who hasn't paid in four months and has gone to collections.

Ah, I feel so much better now. :)

It's sad how people think that complaining loud and long enough is the solution to a problem instead of working to resolve an issue. It's easy enough to ask what a company or service can do for you, but when you call in on a high horse making threats, it won't turn out as well as if you asked and tried to work with them.

 Yeah, it is funny how they worse their standing, the more indignant they seem to become.

We used to have to bump people off to retention once they threatened to cancel, but after like a year of being there they put us on the special accounts for the.. credit challenged, which made us the retention group.

Same kind of concept, we make to saves attempts and then cut them loose. Most people changed their tune pretty quick once we called their bluff. Especially when facing down a $200 early term fee.

Hell, there was a couple people I actually offered to waive that fee just for them to feel free to be invited onward.

It's sad how people think that complaining loud and long enough is the solution to a problem instead of working to resolve an issue. It's easy enough to ask what a company or service can do for you, but when you call in on a high horse making threats, it won't turn out as well as if you asked and tried to work with them.

A LOT of people don't want to know why they are in the spot they are, or hear any solution beyond "you don't have to pay"

I cannot even count the times I offered to go line for line of the bill with people to explain exactly why their bill is in fact accurate, and that if they paid $10 more a month for a new plan, it would save them hundreds of dollars in overage, but it is rarely, if ever, good enough.

Heh. Yeah, being a sup offered me a lot of freedom.

"Your company sucks, and if it wasn't for that damn fee I would just leave"
"uh-huh. I am sorry to hear that"
"Well, what are you going to do for me, your competitor offered me a lot of stuff."
"Indeed. However, the problem is you talked for 1,000 minutes over your plan, and 5,000 txts over the cheap plan, and you have not accepted our offer to put you on one that better suites your needs."
"nuh-uh. I don't want you to be scamming me into a payin more per month, I know how you people do that."
"Sigh, tell ya what, I will waive the ETF for you and cancel your account right now, and you can see that AT&T is not going to offer you any better of a deal"

I can't decide if I should get a Blue Lantern, Orange Lantern, or Indigo Lantern shirt. Here's images. I know I want probably just one.

Welcome back Brio!

Billy seemed to have a mini breakdown waiting for you to get back, and the board as a whole still seems to be on the sex kick.

So not really. ;)

EDIT: Oh, and Joe quit his job, but may have a new girl.

I take supervisor calls a lot, too, which allows me more freedom to be more stern than a regular agent. If it goes above me, it goes to a Team Lead, who often call the customer back in 48-72 hours, but sometimes are free to take them on the spot. There's one Team Lead I love, Alan. He's so blunt and toes such a hard line. Say, I have a customer with $500 in overage charges and offer them half of that as a one time credit to stay if they switch to a higher rate plan and stay with us, which we can do if they're high paying and have a good history. Customer declines, wants to speak to "someone with more authority who can give a better deal."

Alan takes the customer and after awhile of, "Uh-huh, yeah, uh-huh," and all that, Alan goes, "Well, you'll have to switch to a higher minute plan or learn to use less minutees within what you currently have. Hmmm? Half the current overage credited back? I'm sorry that was a one time offer from the supervisor you were just speaking to. I am under no requirement to make the same offer. Once you asked to speak to me, all their offers came off the table. So, it's a higher minutes plan, learn to use less minutes or cancel your services and pay the early term fee. What's it going to be?"

Love him.

Wi-Fi was so shitty in the Quarter. The one fairly decent connection I had was super slow so it was impossible to even check the board. Got back late on Sunday and then was busy with stuff yesterday and was too tired to catch up. :)

Oh very nice. Leads like that are not common, but it is great when you find one that actually backs the agent or other sup. I had a couple managers like that, and it was much more comforting for them to take it rather then the ones that just fold.

It was great. We had a lot of fun. Ate a lot of great food. Went to the Zoo and the Aquarium. Nearly beat the shit out of someone.

It was fun. :)

Place was pretty packed with a lot of kids and families on spring break. The city is kind of sad to see though. So many empty lots and buildings and For Sale signs everywhere.

Oh and we got lost driving in to the city and ended up in the ninth ward...

yeah, that was not fun.

Just good internet connections in your area, or good luck when you travel?

I typically don't take my laptop when I am on vacation, but a lot of places at the beach and stuff suck for connections.

Orange and Blue are both extremely cool. But I think Indigo does do the best to replicate what looks like a different version of the actual Green Lantern shirt.
Decisions, decision. :)

And I too forgot Brio left. I thought you were squirreled away playing Platinum.

It's the very bad part of town.

We went shopping and were walking on Canal street towards Bourbon. I always kept my girls and mom in front of me everywhere to keep an eye on them. So, this thug looking dude is eyeing at my girls and gets up to start following and turns to me and asks "Are they with you?", so I said yeah. Then he asks if they are my sisters or my daughters. So, I gave him a scowl and said they're my daughters now get the fuck away and the dude took off the opposite direction.

That was the first. ;) The second was one night outside the hotel. I was having a smoke and this drunk kid comes stumbling down the sidewalk falling into the walls and shit and trying to start trouble with people. He came extremely close to me and was about to say something when his friends saved his life.
