The boards pretty quiet too.
My wife's taken the kids to the movies and I've actually gotten a few layouts done.

So come on over. We'll pop open a couple of beers and watch the rest of the Spartans game...

I think I'm going to read The Old Man And The Sea today.
Maybe get a head start on learning to play guitar.

Well, with most of the day gone-- that makes a good selection.

I read The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last night-- the F. Scott Fitzgerald story that's the basis for the film (which I haven't seen yet).

Seems just the kernel of an idea for a film but the story still had humor and a touch of sadness.

Can't say yet because it hasn't been announced.
Thanks for asking.

I think I'm going to read Gatsby when I get back to school.

What's funny is my mom and I have polarizing takes on classic novels assigned in school.

She hated Gatsby and I loved it.
I hated the Scarlet Letter she liked it.

I need to read more Fitzgerald.
Have you read his short story Winter Dreams?
It's really good. I believe it was an early draft of the Great Gatsby.

Everyone must be watching that NHL game from Wrigley Field.

Not even I'm watching that (fuck the Red Wings) but I am gearing up to make some wings and maybe even dip for the Pens game tonight. Ahhh, lazy day in...

In Germany everythings fucking closed. I managed to spend most of the day finishing a Saki book.

Scarlet Letter was terrible. Gatsby is great.

I spent the entire day in bed. Waking up has only served to convince me that I should go back.

I finally got to watch the comic documentary on the Iron Man DVD the other day. Good job, Patrick. :)

I am just visiting over at my mom's. Spent a quiet evening last night with some old friends. Good times!

Me too. I just got over the worst of my hangover. Now, I just feel like a zombie.

I got my New Year's kiss. So I'm happy. I do wish I could edit out the last two hours or so of drinking from the night.

I didn't do much drinking last night, so I'm hang over free and loving it. Just walked down to the bodega to pick up my cigarettes and a soda and was gifted another soda by one of the workers. 2009 is going well so far

I just woke up and surprised I don't have a hangover.

Well it looks like there's a Spiderman marathon on ToonDisney and one beer left in the fridge. Enjoy the day everyone and have a good year!

Yeah, I was just lazy today. Had the day off from work, so I sat around my apartment, watched TV and surfed the net. Caught up on my comics reading, took a nap and didnt go out and do anything. I thought about it, but then realized I really dont want to spend any money with the way the economy is and just took a general "eh" approach to the day.

Love the Gatsby too. One of my fave classics. Even bought the Frank Muller audio book. Frank Muller, for those who don't know, is the best reader for audio books ever recorded. He's amazing.
Edit: Haven't read Winter Dreams. Been reading Six Tales of the Jazz Age and have read Tender Is the Night and that's the extent of FSF so far.

Thanks. I was white-knuckle nervous during most of that interview. The guys were nice, but there's all this light shining on you so you can't see the interviewer-- he's just a shadowy figure behind the lights.

Huh. That was weird.
That was funny-- and, for the record, I think the 300 was a kick-ass movie.

Terrific. See you in about a week, my friend!

Didn't get squat done today. Oh, I made the bed, and read 4 comics. And I took a nap. I was supposed to do my monthly paperwork...ha! Bills can wait until tomorrow. Was supposed to clean the house...ha! That can wait until Saturday. Damn...what did I do?

Ate chocolate. :D
