Ya know Jim I surprised you haven't started this thread. Then again I know how busy you are with all the new exciting projects you got going. So I took the liberty of starting it for you. I hope you don't mind. I know you are a big Dazzler fan just the same as my fiance. So I started this thread in hopes that you and other Dazzler fans can talk all things Dazzler. Who knows I might even jump in from time to time. So as they say let the show begin...

Too bad about what happened to Ultimate Dazzler

LOL, I was wondering if this thread would start. Well, I DID write her in the X-Men story from this year's holiday special: http://www.marvel.com/digitalcomics/titles/Marvel_Digital_Holiday_Special.0000.1
As for me tackling her in a more long form, I have a few ideas, but I really want to do it right, and have it spin out organically from events happening in the X-World. So, eventually, yes. Hoping in the next year or two.

Where does Jim stand on Ultimate Dazzler?
Are all Dazzlers born equal, Mr. McCann?

All Dazzlers are not created equally and while I was not really a fan of Ult Daz, I thought it was at least a very different take on the character & was sad to see her die in Ultimatum

I've always found Dazzler's abilities to be interesting but the things I'd like to see her doing would probably be out of character.
I have this urge to see her on a team like X-Force or New Avengers where she could bust through doors or jump through windows and go off like a flash grenade. Going first into a hot zone as part of a strike team doesn't exactly scream "Dazzler", ya know?
For whatever reason, most of my thoughts on Dazzler involve using her as some sort of weapon to disorient and/or incapacitate people.
I think if she was a villain, she'd be great for Andy Diggle's Thunderbolts purely because of her abilities.

I think you have something there. I have never been a real fan of Dazzler, but I think she has a ton of potential.
I would love see something like Dr H suggested.

I have always liked Dazzler, in fact, I had almost the entire run of her 80's solo series for a long time....

Hey Jim! It's been awhile. Just wondering what you thought of the way Matt Fraction brought about Dazzler's appearance in the Uncanny X-Men?

Pretty sure the new Essential Dazzler comes out this week and it will have the Marvel Graphic Novel in it. I don't remember ever reading that one...

I'm sure Dazzler fans (Jim included ;)) will be checking out next week's A:TI #27 featuring an appearance not only by Dazzler but two of her biggest enemies- DR.SAX and JOHNNY GUITAR!

Dazzler always makes me think of the Claremont / Byrne era in X-Men.

Something tells me Dazzler might be interested in the Necrosha X event seeing as how from the preview released this week in Exodus that
Lois London aka HER HALF SISTER is back and under the new name Mortis!

It's interesting because I read Byrne's X-Men like 20 years after it was originally published, but for some reason I alwys have his run with Claremont as a reference.

My fiance is the big Dazzler fan. She has majority of her appearances. I find myself reading them from time to time.

You must be happy. Usually women have no interest at all in comic books.

Lose the Grey Starburst Crotch costume and get David Lopez to draw it.

I can officially say that I am doing a sort of epilogue to BEAUTY & THE BEAST in a short story starring Dazzler & Beast, drawn by David Lopez. It'll be in a one-shot called MARVEL HEARTBREAKERS, with a few other stories about other characters from some really great creators.
VERY excited!

I didn't know Dazzler and Beast had a history together . But sounds great anyway.

I remember reading the issue of Uncanny where Dazzler shows up to visit Pixie at the behest of her "good friend Beast" and I thought at that moment, was "Beauty and the Beast" really the last time Ali and Hank had any significant interaction prior to this med lab scene?
I think the prospect of seeing the gap bridged between those moments in time through this epilogue is an interesting one. Who knows, I could be "reaching" in terms of assumptions about the story you've written, but I'm glad to see some of Dazzler's old friendships revisited (ie, Psylocke/Dazzler) and I look forward to a story that features her as a primary character.
I'm very excited to hear this news, Jim! Also, David Lopez on art = <3. I, like hamgravy, would love to see a new take on her costume if editorial allows such things; something that incorporates silver and fabulous !
Dazzler is never given enough credit. My niece was having issues reading a couple years back and literally learned to read properly with Dazzler comics. Still the only comic she cares about. I also have to say enjoyed her bit in Secret Invasion and i love the non disco look she has now.

Thanks, eruazn! I find the history of Beast & Dazzler really fascinating & he was a HUGE part of her life at the end of her solo series, so revisiting these two has been a blast.
And Red!, awesome story about your niece. I love hearing that comics help kids with reading. It makes me feel like we're all a part of something bigger than we even realize.

Jim, I don't know what the timeframes are for coloring issues (or the politics behind tweaking costume designs), but I thought I'd throw this your way to see what you think ... maybe if she does sport the new uniform in your upcoming story, there can be some coloring liberties taken?

Someone over in the CBR Dazzler thread recolored some art posted at DeviantArt. Dazzler's current costume would look so much better with some skin showing and the silver/blue combination is a nice fusion of her original/iconic silver jumpsuit and her blue X-Men costume.

WOW - McCann, Lopez, an epilogue to Beauty and the Beast!
Can't wait!
If it's set during the time period, we're looking at Flashdance Dazzler and Gorilla Beast. If it's some present-day reflection, Starburst Crotch ahoy!
