I know the second mini started coming out then there was a one shot. Did I miss the rest of the mini or did that just stop?

Pretty much dropped off the face of the Earth.

Huh. I actually thought Ellis was writing the one-shots and continuing his ongoing story through them.

They did, like, two of them, and we haven't really heard anything in quite a while. Just like after the first mini.

What happened to Warren Ellis's newuniversal?
I dunno, but here's a thought: Josh Holloway sued for theft of likeness?

I gave my friend a bunch of comics to read over the winter, Newuniversal among them.
While we were talking about what he read, he said "Man, newuniversal is sweet. Why did you stop buying the issues? Isn't it exactly what you like in superhero comics?"
I said "Yeah, it is. But the issues just.. stopped for some reason."

Pffft. He's everywhere.
I do love that the likeness of James Cromwell appeared in it.

What character had his face?
He's referring to Newuniversal's version of Ken Connell/Starbrand. Dead ringer in looks. But that was when Salvadore Larroca was drawing. The new artist gave Ken a beard. Not so much a Sawyer clone in looks anymore.

Who knows? They did two issues of Shockfront and two one shots and we haven't heard anything about it again. You know how Marvel is.
It'll probably just become another Squadron Supreme.

Speaking of Ellis, I wonder what happened to Desolation Jones and Fell?

Ellis lost interest, I'm guessing. He seems to do that a lot.

It'll start coming out again. Not sure, but I think it got wrapped up in his computer crash where he lost a lot of work.
I did the third one-shot and they're holding everything New Universal off until they have some work stockpiled.
At least that was the last word about a month ago.

Thank you for telling us.
I wish Marvel would have made such an announcement.

I didn't care for the series, but it's no big deal Ellis ain't doing T-Bolt either.
Maybe he's on a superhero break

I miss all three of Ellis' disappearing books: Newuniversal, Fell and Desolation Jones.
I'm hoping Ignition City can somewhat live up to what I've been waiting for since he floated the idea in Bad Signal many years ago.

LOL. Now I'm probably in trouble.
But I love this book, probably my favorite Marvel work of his since nextwave.

Agreed. I really thought newuniversal was going to be a joke, but it fucking rules. Glad to see Hickman joining in! That's awesome!
The one-shots Si Spurrier and Kieron did are fucking great as well.

This is some exciting news. Can't wait.
I too am sorry that newuniversal has dropped off the face of the earth. I too lent it to a friend who is just getting into comics and he loved it and was sorry that there hasn't been any more of it. Hope Ellis gets around to finishing it.
