I've always wondered what happened to that Matthew Broderick. He seemed to have so much potential

I used to like Jeffrey Jones from his roles in Beetlejuice and Ed Wood. Now I can never look at him the same again

Holy shit! I thought John Hughes was dead!!

But he's alive...and not making movies?? Man, you would think he would be itching to get back since the "teenage angst/high school" comedy movies made such a comeback. The guy was the MASTER of those!

It wasn't very good. Wasn't exactly the most horrible thing on TV ever, but it wasn't very good.

And I dunno if I'd say Jennifer Grey's plastic surgery was "botched," I mean... she still looks good and whoever the surgeon was must've been a master 'cause he did a helluva job. The problem was that it was such a good job that she lost that distinctive look she had and nobody believed she was that Jennifer Grey when she showed up for auditions.

I would say no, but I can't speak for Patrick. Granted, it was on when I was 10, so I don't know if my opinion holds any weight. :)

I'd say no. I mean... diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks so maybe if you could get it through NetFlix and you had a day to kill with nothing better to do. You'll either be left pleasantly amused or really bored/pissed.

Yeah, I remember looking him up when I saw him on Deadwood and stumbling across all that nastyness. Too bad.

LOL it was really big news when it happened because he was listed as a friend of Paul Ruebens whose house also got busted for having some sort of pornographic material (don't think it involved any kids pics though).

I believe he and Pee Wee Herman was simultaneously busted for sharing child porn. They were friends with shared "hobbies." This was way after Pee Wee was arrested beating off in the adult theater. "Take a picture, it'll last longer!!!" I think Pee Wee's charges got reduced or dropped. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Too tired to google the answer. :)

Reuben's got busted with a book that showed childhood deformities. The kids were naked, but there wasn't anything sexualized about it.

The other guy, I think he got busted with the real deal. And he needs his scrotum nailed to a board.

He got 2 DUIs and then got Lymphoma?

NM: I saw where he was caught smoking crack and having sex with homeless men.

I myself have always been a Paul Reubens fan ever since I first saw him in a Cheech and Chong movie. "Hamburggger."

I can imagine him in front of a judge:

Judge: "Mr. Reubens, although the D.A. has decided to dismiss all charges against you, and I, therefore, cannot find you guilty, I must tell you that I regard you as a sick individual with some questionable interests in art."

Paul Reubens: "I know you are, but what am I."

Yeah, that's pretty much how I see that scenario playing out.

A couple years ago Richard Roeper did a column in the Sun Times about where the Ferris Bueller cast was now, particularly Mia Sara. The gist of it was that she was a beautiful young girl, who seemingly had a huge career ahead of her after that movie... and instead she went on to do a bunch of softcore films before sort of coming back to the mainstream in Timecop.

We were watching the latest special edition of the DVD a few weeks ago and it was a little strange seeing Jeffrey Jones, knowing what we know now.

The "Bueller, Bueller edition" of the FBDO DVD has a feature with some of the cast reflecting on the movie. The footage of John Hughes looked very dated and all I could think was that he's hiding in a bunker somewhere. And apparently, he is...

Being half-Asian, I blame that fucker John Hughes for me not losing my virginity until after high school. God damn Long Duck Dong!!!!!! :)

He may be ashamed of what they've done to the genre.

He may have also worked out his angst and needs to write something new. Hence the Drillbit Taylor, which I can see why he used a pen name

There must be some strange business between John Hughes and Paramount. Because the previous edition of Ferris on DVD contained a commentary track by Hughes, recorded in 1999. They "Bueller, Bueller" edition left this off for no real reason.

Ferris is my alltime favorite movie, and the Hughes oeuvre is perhaps my favorite work by a film maker ever. I'd like to track him down, and hear his stories. I'm sure he's full of them.
