Out of the top guns, like Spider-Man, the FF, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Cap, DD, etc...which one is currently the biggest disappointment to you in the way that Marvel has changed their look, personality, character, etc...?

Or...are you happy with all?

The Avengers and the X-men are my biggest modern Marvel dissapointments...which sucks because they were my all time favorite during the silver age. They aren't even recognizeable anymore.

Avengers

-the roster (wolvie and spidey shouldn't be avengers)
-complete lack of silver age characters (where are vision, scarlet witch, etc)
-unecessary changes (Hawkeyes stupid new costume)
-characterization (Tony doesn't feel like the Iron Man I know)
-decisions (why kill Cap)
-no respect for roots (Civil War)
-no big 3 together (miss steve rogers, miss tony in his prime, miss classic thor)
-Bendis ('nuff said)

X-men

-roster (White Queen shouldn't be an X-man)
-changes for the worse (where is Jean? CAT-Beast???)
-no respect for roots (Prof X and Cyclops feuding)
-costumes (terrible, terrible, costumes, each and every one)
-characterization (Cyke willing to kill now?)
-new-new mutants (boring and unecessary)
-Grant Morrison ('nuff said)

I don't read much of any of the new stuff so for me it's primarily visual: I don't like Thor's new costume, Sue Richards is always drawn too sexy, I detest Spidey's big McFarlane eyes and anorexic body frame, never warmed up to Iron Man's new armor, dislike the Hulk as drawn waaaay out of proportion, etc.

Agree with most of the above. The constant roster changes are lame. Let's get a little bit of consistency. Would like to see Thor back as an Avenger and don't get me started on Cap. Jesus-f-ing-Christ!!!!! What's next? Spidey and Wolvie getting married and adopting X-23?

haha oh yeah, X-23, I forgot to mention that in my X-men related dislikes lol cheap knock-off made purely to cash in and prolong Wolverine's popularity.

Iron Man is one of my favorite Marvel characters & I have been unable to buy his book since Warren Ellis changed everything.

Concentrate on telling a good story and stop trying to reinvent the wheel !!

There are only a few things that bug me about the new stuff.
1. They Killed Cap!? WTF He is like Superman of the Marvel U
2. They Killed Kitty Pryde!? WTF She was my favorite character when I started reading. Hopefully with the return of Majik this can be fixed! Having a heart borken Colossus wandering around it getting old.
3. The Scarlet Witch goes nuts and Kills Hawkeye, Vision, Ant Man, and Jack of Hearts (House of M was actually kind of cool) but the part of her living in some small town in Europe with no supposed memory and no powers is just stupid, and now they are going to bring her back as an active Avenger?
4. How many different teams can Wolverine be on at one time? Can he be in multiple places at once now?
5. Xavier was really as bad as Magneto and messed with peoples minds regularly to get his way? Cyclops is so twisted now he condons killing, but is worried about Cable showing up with the baby and builds a crib. Bishop goes psycho on everyone and destroys the world in the future to kill a baby?
6. Quicksilver got his powers back and then dissapears? What about the rest of the Mutants?

OatWilly, ProjectRX, did either you happen to see/read anything about the last few pages of "Age of the Sentry" #2?

The book is drawn and written in a fun, semi-Bruce Timm sort of way, and it is good ole' tales of Silver Age crimefighting. And then there's the last few page of "Age of the Sentry" #2.

Google it, see if you can find it. Crazy stuff ... literally.

Yeah, the Sentry was a little boring in the New Avengers

no, I was joking when i listed Sentry, because he's a faux silver age hero. I'm not really up on modern marvel at all, but I did read the first bunch of New Avengers issues.

I've been reading marvel omnibus' recently. Just got and read Iron Man, Hulk, Uncanny X-Men, and Tomb Of Drac is up next.

With the current storylines, artists and writers alike, they have turned one of my favorite charactors from my childhood into a tool! I'm speaking of the Amazing Spider-man of course. It doesn't bug me so much that they made him a New Avenger but the fact that they portray him as a newby and a foul-up pisses me off. The marvel brass act like they wish they could write him off and act like he never existed!
