Be interesting to see where they take this.

Specially with the ending to the first one.

Variety has issued the following report from Michael Fleming:

Dimension Films and ROB ZOMBIE are teaming for another chapter of Halloween, and he's racing to scare up the pic for release in October.

Zombie will write and direct H2, the sequel to his 2007 reinvention of the John Carpenter horror classic. Production will begin in March.

The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.

Zombie said it won't resemble the original second installment, as the House Of 1,000 Corpses helmer continues to take the franchise in different directions.

Zombie took Carpenter's original and stamped it with an original storyline that treated Myers as a clinical psychopath. The film grossed $60 million domestically in 2007.

I don't see how she could be, unless she plays an entirely different character.

Maybe Laurie will be the killer in this one.

That's what I was thinking, because I know there was 3 endings, but I'm pretty sure the 'true' ending ended with a dead Michael.

But it is a horror movie, so he'll probably just have a flesh wound ;)

I'm optimistic...but cautiously so. The best part of the first one was before Michael broke out of the mental hospital...I hope he does take things in a radically new direction that allows for more new material like that.

And I think the true ending (that will be continued from) is where the fall and she's shooting the gun and he grabs her wrist just as it goes off.

Yeah that's what I'm guessing as well.

Good news. The first was pretty excellent as far as remakes go. I was cautiously optimistic going in and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the shit out of it.

That'd be a pretty lame cop out. But wouldn't surprise me.

While Malcolm McDowell has openly admitted he's signed on for three Halloween films (as the role of Dr. Sam Loomis), he has still yet to officially come onboard Rob Zombie's H2. The star of A Clockwork Orange and TV's "Heroes" recently chatted at a recent SAG event about his role, which doesn't sound too promising. Read on for the skinny. H2 begins shooting in two weeks for release on August 28th.

Legendary actor Malcolm McDowell was the Guest of Honor at a SAG Foundation "Conversations" Event tonight in Hollywood, reports a reader of AICN. During the 2-hour proceedings, the British thespian discussed his career and touched on a variety of subjects... including his role in Rob Zombie's H2.

"Regarding "H2"; when the host of the event told McDowell he thought he did an amazing job of stepping into the role of Loomis and that he couldn't picture anyone else taking up the role besides him after the performance he gave in the first film, McDowell thanked him and told him "maybe you ought to tell that to the Weinsteins! We're in the middle of negotiating right now!" He then riffed on the notorious hard-bargaining of the Weinstein Brothers, "Those f*ckers!" He then chuckled and said he was, of course, kidding and said that Zombie, whom he called an "amazing director" (he said this twice during the event), wanted him back...even though McDowell himself thought Loomis must surely be dead...and that the Weinsteins are probably wishing Loomis WAS dead. The host prodded McDowell for plot details but McDowell insisted he had none to give, "I haven't read the script yet". He said all he knew was that the story supposedly takes place two months after the finale of the first film. He continued by saying Loomis won't be doing any chasing down of Myers, adding that pursuit will be left up to the "notorious Sheriff" and that Loomis' character "is in the middle of a book-tour." "

Heh. Obviously. But the title Curse of Michael Myers was already used for the terrible 6th installment. I'd think they could be a little more creative with their secondary title line.

Never doubt the retarded releases of Halloween movies. Halloween H20 was released in August and it was set in the future (the Halloween to take place in two months). I shit you not.

Supernatural as in unkillable, or as in crazy Myers obsessed cults transferring his spirit around to other bodies?

I thought he did a brilliant job creating Michael. But just didn't follow through with it in any similar way.
