Earlier today, Arcade Fire released their new documentary film, Miroir Noir. The 76-minute film, directed by band friend and collaborator, Vincent Morisset, follows Arcade Fire through the making and touring of their 2007 album Neon Bible, including live footage and short films made on the road.

The film is available exclusively at http://miroir-noir.com in three different digital download formats (Small, Medium, and Large) for immediate access and pre-order for the DVD and Limited Edition DVD, which includes Arcade Fire's live performances on Jonathon Ross, Saturday Night Live, and at Maida Vale.

It has to be better than The National DVD from The Virginia EP.

Yeah. I absolutely love The National, but the Vincent Moon documentary really disappointed me. I like wilful, self-indulgent narcissism as much as the next guy, but Jesus, it was awful.

On the upside, the EP was pretty good - a couple of strong new songs and a belting live version of About Today. Whenever I burn an introductory CD to ther band for people who don't know about them (and they are legion), I now close it out with that. Normally, I would avoid live tracks when the recipient doesn't know the band, but that version is that damn good...

As for Arcade Fire, I had no idea they had a DVD coming out. Sweet!
