I almost shat myself when I saw that it was Quitely. I really hope it's true.

DC will let Batman come out that delayed? I dunno, doesn't seem their style. Cool if it does though.

My quess is that it would be for the first arc only. I don't think they would want Batman delayed that long.

Plus he's got a lot of lead time if it is true. Especially if he's working on it now.

Also, I think the column said "a Batman monthly". Perhaps a separate series tailored specifically for Morrison/Quitely? Or a miniseries?

this may get the run to do something for me.i've liked just about everything else hes done but this and arkham asylum.the concepts in these stories are great but some of his stuff seems to far out of character for me.

CBRs loading slow for me so I can't check, but good point.

Morrison on Batman.

Quietly on Batman. :ecstatic:

Also, don't be surprised to see Quietly do alternating arcs with someone else.

Here's the full item (green light):

FRANK’S BACK ON BATMAN

Grant Morrison is indeed writing a monthly Batman book after “Final Crisis"/"Whatever Happened To…"/ "Battle For The Cowl" and the like have wrapped.

And the penciller?

Get ready.

DC people tell me it’s one Frank Quitely.

Quite, quite excellent. I’ve got a couple of Frank’s art pages from his previous Batbook “The Scottish Connection" hanging in my hall. I doubt I’ll be able to afford any more now.

Yes, he is already working on it. Obviously.

Well, he had 8-9 months' lead time on A-SS, and the second issue was delayed. This has to be separate from regular continuity.

I can definately afford to buy 4 issues of Batman a year.

Since Superman is getting a new title in the New Year I would not be surprised to see Grant and Frank getting a new title. No Way does the flagship Bat-Title go into the Quitley delay zone.

*sigh* if that's one of the regular books, i will be done with batman. morrison was passable on the character, but i don't think quietly would fit at all. he's very talented and i love his work, but 99.9% sure it won't work (for me) on batman.

Only if Quitely's arcs are really short, and the someone else's are really long ;)

I'll be buying it, I just don't think they'd do it on Batman.

If Morrison and Quitely are actually on Batman...and DC wants the book out on time...

Obviously we're gonna have utter crap for the next six months, followed by perfection for the next 6. I see no other way for this to happen.

They'll put in filler stories in between breaking it up.

I'd prefer they just skip those issues and release the fill ins so that the series runs consecutively, but that could be my OCD.

Hey, I liked the Archie stuff too...especially when they killed off the Mighty Mutanimals and Slash sacrificed himself and all that. I'm glad the Forever War story is finally coming out after what? 15 years?

I just like the Mirage stuff a bit more, probably since it's the original version. I pretty much like it all, though. I have all the Image and Dreamwave issues too.

It's so different in tone from the Mirage series, but it's really just as awesome. An epic cosmic adventure. It has a very silver-age feel, with some surprisingly intricate plotting.

My favorite part was the Japan arc. And the art was really good in that one too.

Phenomenal news. Quitely/Morrison on Batman is perfect. Oh, and the Turtles being reprinted finally gives me the opportunity to check out the comic version of these characters.
