I thought glasses were a pain in the ass (bending, getting dirty, making me look even more nerdy).

So I decided to get contacts. But they are also a pain in the ass. They are so difficult to put in and take out.

So what is the verdict? Glasses or contacts? What do you recommend?

FIRST!

I look much more attractive wearing glasses. Plus, I don't like to fuss with contacts.

Glasses for the win.

But... wha?

That's not fair. Not fair at all. There was time now. All the time I needed...

Yeah. Maybe glasses aren't a good thing. :)

Contacts, four-eyes.

It depends on the look of the glasses.

Personally, i'm looking into lasik myself. Fuck all that other noise.

Contacts. They can be difficult when you first start using them but I think they are worth it in the end.

Everyone I know that says to get contacts are always complaining about the contact getting caught in their eye or losing them. I've always just liked how glasses look.

I roll both.

I love contacts. But the thing with contacts is that if ONE little tinsy thing is wrong with them I can tell and it sucks.

Personally, i prefer my contacts. I have green eyes and they are hidden behind glasses for some reason... contacts are a much better option for me. I've never had any problems with them, so I wouldnt go back to glasses unless I have to.

Oddly enough, I like glasses on others... go figure...

I wore contacts for years, starting in junior high. A few years ago, my eyes were bugging me so I started wearing my glasses -- Colin told me how much he liked the look. Haven't even considered wearing my contacts since.

The right pair of glasses on a man are incredibly sexy.

Once in a while I'll convince myself to give contacts another try. It usually doesn't last long.

I prefer contacts because I like showing off my awesome blue eyes, and also because I can give hugs and kisses and stuff without my glasses getting knocked around, which always happens.

Plus, every now and then I see the rims of my glasses and it drives me insane.

That said, I'm told I look good in glasses, and they are more convenient when it comes to taking them off, that's for sure.

Contacts.

1. I could never pull off the hip nerdy look with glasses. I only managed full throttle nerd.
2. When I wore glasses, they'd always break. As a kid, I had to resort to taping them up a few times. Yep. See above re: "full throttle nerd."
3. When I was 13, I got into a fight with a neighborhood kid. Started it very confident, having six months of karate lessons under my belt. Then the guy knocked my glasses off. I was kicking air the rest of the fight. Must've looked like a doofus.
4. Couldn't for the life of me get lucky with the opposite sex when I had my glasses. See above re: "full throttle nerd." But lo and behold, when I started wearing contacts, Hello, ladies.

Anything coming that close to my eyes really freaks me out, so I go with glasses.

Contacts just take getting used to. I've had them for about 10 years now.

Part of me wants to get Lasik eventually, but I kinda like my glasses sometimes.

You could get non-perscription lenses and still wear them for fashion.

It'd probably end up being a waste, since I rarely wear my frames outside the house. Besides, that always struck me as kinda lame.

I agree.

I have a friend who wants to do it because he thinks his eyes are too small and his face looks better with glasses, but of course who wouldn't want better vision all the time?

It makes sense, but still. . .

It's not the glasses making you look nerdy, it's the Civil War t-shirt, spider-man underwears, and man purse full of comics you're carrying.

Glasses are not a pain in the ass. Bending? My glasses stay on. They only get dirty enough to clean maybe once a day. At worst, glasses are a hassle.

Contacts on the other hand... I've heard nightmares about those things. For example, they can get stuck to your eyeballs if you accidentally take a nap without taking them out (I don't want to have to poke my eyes out before taking a nap).

Glasses.

Because I always seem to lose my contacts or the case, or need a new bottle of solution at the worst possible moment (namely, when I cannot get one). And I like the idea of falling asleep whenever without having to take them out.

Glasses. I just got a new pair about a month ago.

I get bugged out just putting drops into my eyes. Doing the whole contact lenses thing? Fuck that!

That said, I've gone the glasses route for the last few months. But, that's mostly b/c I've been too lazy to order more contacts.

I've never had any trouble with my contacts. Glasses, on the other hand, do tend to get in the way.

I think I would like contacts.

But I cannot stand to touch my eye. Absolutely can not.

So I have glasses.

Biggest drawback (IMO) is when you are outside and the sun is shining bright, but I got me a pair of prescription sunglasses for that.

I've been wearing glasses since elementary school, though, so having them is second nature for me.

I tried contacts once. I don't want to talk about it.

I'm using soft lenses. They are like a jelly film. They don't get caught in the eye, nor can they fall out, buy they are a pain to put in.

By the way, if a mod is reading this, I believe I should be suspended now.

While I hate how dirty my glasses seem to get on a daily basis, I cannot stand touching my eyeball...so stuck with them.

Wouldn't mind wearing contacts if there was some way to do it without the ick-factor.

I wear glasses. Less hassle than contacts and I actually really dig the hell out of them. Been wearing glasses now for... 12 years? Wore contacts for maybe two weeks.

And I'm a sucker for boys in glasses.

I love that. It makes me laugh or at the very least smile every time it happens. I am apparently very easily amused.

Also I am extremely absent-minded. I know if I got contacts I'd forget about them or forget to insert them. Glasses are just more convenient although I do think I look better without glasses.

I apparently look much better with the glasses. I myself don't really give a damn but several people (ex-fiancee among them) have said that I look quite "studious and mature" with the glasses than without. Whether that means that I look like a little manchild without glasses is anyone's guess.

I have no preference. I choose depending on what I plan on wearing. I just feel some things look better with glasses, some without.

in all the years that i had contacts, i never heard of that happening or had it happen to anyone i know.

and i used to sleep with my contacts in regularly.

you get used to seeing clearly, to the point that it's a pain in the ass to not have the contacts in (in my experience). it's pretty hard to forget them.
