Which do you prefer? I used to eagerly anticipate my Joe Fridays at Newsarama. I used to read it all. Now I forget to look for it and rarely read any of it. I just look at the pictures. Not sure if it is the current format or what.
What is the boards consensus on it?

Newsarama > Myspace. I have only read it maybe 3 times on myspace. It just isn't the same.

I read it more frequently at newsarama. But, long before the switch, it pretty much lost me. The move to myspace just sealed my decison to stop checking up on it.
When you get to the 240536th "Wait and see..." and "All will be revealed..." answers, and get fuck all in the way of preview art, one starts to find it hard to find it within themselves to give a toss.

I used to love Joe Fridays but gave up reading it because of all the hate from the people who post there. Not that anyone posts in the forums now, there seems to be only a couple of posts a day.

Maybe it is just not aimed at us anymore?

to me, i say old newsarama joey friday's was the best. but they changed their site, so even if joe left myspace, which i going to, and went back to newsarama, it would still not be great.
the other part of the eqution is...
When you get to the 240536th "Wait and see..." and "All will be revealed..." answers
if there were more questions about art, writing, and the business of comics, and less questions about "what happens next?" (with the obligatory response of "wait and see") then i would give a shit again.
also, any good part from cup of joe just gets reposted here. so, im not missing out on anything.

Well, the nice thing about MySpace is it's not followed by 16 pages of ranting lunatics screaming about how much they hate everything.
That said, MySpace is a tough site for this. I wish they'd moved it to CBR or IGN personally.
Still, I think it's great that the guy does this column, and enjoy reading it regularly. It's not the 'event' that Joe Fridays became, but it's still a cool resource.

Yeah, I would say the "wait and see" answers are why I stopped caring. That is probably the biggest reason I think.

The difference isn't just in the site, it's also in the person asking the questions.
Which is your favorite car commercial -- the one where the car is driving or the one where the car is parked all fancy like?

Yeah, that's what bugs me.
Newsarama always pushed interesting questions and got some interesting answers. On myspace, it's 'hey, I love your books.' 'I love them too! Here's a preview image that's been on the internet for two weeks!'

Yeah, the nice thing about all the negativity was it sorta forced tough questions.
That said, the Rama just hasn't been the same for me since the 1-2 punch of One More Day and the revamp. It's slowly getting back in my top sites list, but there was a time when I hit that site every hour. I really wish they'd just go back to the classic design.

Yeah, I barely check it anymore. The only thing that's must-read is the Didio 20 Questions, which is great because it asks good questions, and in doing so makes both sides look good. Cup of Joe just feels too polished and PR-y to me.

The newsarama guys had balls enough to ask some serious questions when they arose. The Myspace version just lobs softballs.

Yea, I used to wait for Joe Fridays, but I mostly ignore My Cup o' Joe because I think it's trying to get out to people who don't have any knowledge of comics. Or at least people that don't read previews. So, they ask questions that they should know he's not going to answer.
But yea, it lost me.

The amount of preview art on Myspace is much than it was on Newsarama

I think they're basically the same thing. Like I've said before, most of the arguments against the Myspace version were getting thrown at the Newsarama version. I mean, I remember when Quesada took a break and others filled in and people were talking about the shot in the arm it got.
