THE CLEVELAND SHOW -- FULL SEASON FOR '09

Fox has announced it has ordered an additional nine episodes for a full season of the Family Guy spin-off, The Cleveland Show, and will debut it in fall 2009.

Additionally, Arianna Huffington has been tapped for a recurring role and joins previously announced series regulars Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Kevin Michael Richardson, Mike Henry and Seth MacFarlane.

Huffington is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, a news website and political blog. She is a nationally syndicated columnist, the author of 12 books and the co-host of Left, Right & Center, a political roundtable radio program.

Here's how sets up the series:

"The Cleveland Show, set to debut fall 2009, is a new animated series that follows everyone¹s favorite soft-spoken neighbor Cleveland Brown(voiced by Henry) to his hometown in Virginia, as he settles down with his high school sweetheart, Donna (voiced by Lathan), and her unruly kids Roberta (voiced by Long) and 5-year-old RALLO (voiced by Henry), as well as his own 14-year-old son, Cleveland Jr. (voiced by Richardson). Once in Virginia, Cleveland is welcomed by a collection of neighbors that includes a loudmouth redneck, Lester (voiced by Richardson); a hipster wanna-be, Holt; and a family of talking bears, including Tim (voiced by MacFarlane) and his wife Arianna (voiced by Huffington)."

Huffington is playing a Bear opposite Seth MacFarlane on a Family Guy spin-off. That's messed up.

Rednecks, talking bears, and a kid named Rallo. This might not be as bad as I thought.

Talking bears...

This seems strikingly similar to another spinoff of black cast members from a popular show sans talking bears.

Talking bears...

So we're drawing the line at talking dogs, talking fish, and giant pugilistic chickens?

This ain't no Threat Down, Colbert. You just made Yogi's list.:scared:

That too. He was an energetic little bastard before he pulled a Nicky on everyone.

Same here. I think that's kind of the point though.

Yikes. Could be good, but it looks like an uphill battle.

And he used to be voiced by Mike Henry.

Though if he's become really fat, I guess the change in voice makes sense from a comedic standpoint.

But still....14? Really?

I'm still convinced the executives went to Macfarlane and said, "People like that Quagmire guy. Let's make a spinoff show about him," and that "Who else but Quagmire?" sketch was their way of showing FOX, "Look, this is what a Quagmire spinoff would look like."

"All right, go with the black guy. Put some bears in it. Bears are funny."

How the hell did Cleveland get a show ahead of Quagmire?!? Or even Joe...?

Probably because he's the easiest one to lift out of Family Guy.

Mike Henry pitched it and Seth liked it and then they took it to the network.

Since when is Cleveland Jr 14?

Since when is Cleaveland Jr. even around anymore? He sort of disappeared after the first or second season.

I hope Loretta makes a few appearances. I'd like to see her terrorize Cleveland's new family.

I'm game. I didn't think I'd like American Dad at first, but once it found it's groove it's been great.
