I feel so sorry for cops. The trash that they have to deal with all day, every day... they should be allowed to just beat the hell out of some scumbags every once in-a-while. Am i right?

I just love the show for all the white trash on it.

More people need to just blow their fucking brains out and not reproduce.

Your question is a trap. Nice try, though.

It is a never-ending pile of shit that cops deal with. For a long time I wanted to be one, until I realized most of the stuff they actually do are stuff with don't think about. Calls about kids who are out of control, calls about a family member throwing a tantrum, calls about people's houses getting toilet papered, calls about disputes at places of business. While I am sure they would take these sorts of calls over life or death situations any day of the year, it really must get monotonous to deal with people and their shit.

But you also get to pull over random hotheaded jackasses in supped up cars just to annoy them.

I know that's what I'd be doing to kill boredom. First loud honda I see gets pulled over.

I am sure that gets old at some point. But yeah, I can definitely see the fun there. Not to mention if you end up pulling over the head of your high school football team.

Those kinds of calls ARE usually life and death. Domestic Disputes in most departments require TWO Officers to show up because of heightened emotions. It's then slow days of logging codes that I'm sure they want after a while.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Lord knows what you are going to get during the domestic disturbance calls. Especially in some of the more colorful places.

I too wanted to be a cop when I was a young man, then I realized that my temper and the fact I can explode at people quite easily would only get me in trouble. It's one thing to get pissed at someone, it's another to get pissed at them when you have a gun, mace and a night stick at your side.

All very true. I was more referring to small disputes that people (usually) should be able to handle themselves. I was not trying to minimize domestic violence. Just the frustration that cops must feel after while that people need their help constantly instead of being able to functionally manage their own lives.

I like to watch cops to make me feel better about self.

But does it make you feel better about your spelling too?

yeah, just statistically a cop is more likely to die during a Domestic type Dispute.

but yes, they do feel a shit ton of frustration at stupidity.

It's monotonous proofreading and editing and checking the reports they write alone (or fucked up, like a child endangerment/welfare check report I read today...lice and scabies, ick). I can't imagine how it'd be out there on the field.

I used to work for the D.A's Victim Services Domestic Violence unit. And part of the job was familiarizing one's self with each case. I remember reading one where a dad beat up his wife, his six-year-old child ran and locked himself in the bedroom and started to call 911. The guy burst in there unplugged the phone and strangled the child with the cord when cops finally arrive. That one fucked me up for a good long while.
