I really liked your observation about how when Superman was first introduced, he was seen as having abilities/personality traits to aspire to (noble, true, honest, upstanding, clean-cut), and how today, those same traits are why some people feel the character isn't relevant.
Have you read 'It's a Bird' by Seagle and Kristiansen? If you haven't, I highly recommend it, as it is a book that deconstructs Superman's powers/abilities/traits, and examines them from today's perspective, and also notes how the tide has turned in that respect.

Nice! It seems like you put a lot of thought into that analysis. :)
Constructive criticism: "Remember that Superman was a chosen identity and that for all intensive purposes, Clark Kent grew up as Clark Kent."
It's "intents and purposes."

Thanks for the kind words. I haven't read that yet but I'll have to pick it up.

I agree with you about Clark Kent being his true personality. Superman is definately underrated these days. Always treated as the goofy boy scout. I, personally, would like to see him take on more of a quasi-christ role. Using his powers to teach people how to take care of themselves and respect each other. The fact that he is an honest and genuinely decent person doesn't take away from his potntial as a readable character.

I had been thinking about this since I originally saw the movie. Took a while to formulate it but I like how it turned out.

Great job man! I'm very glad you got the gig. If anything, it's a good feeling that others who you like, and who also did a better job than you, got the job.

Yeah I was a little worried about posting this here just because I know there were other people from here that wanted to be included and for whatever reason didn't.
Thanks a lot for all the nice words.

I'm sad that my piece was lost to history when the Image boards went down.

No, it was just a quick thing I whipped up in a PM. It was a really punchy, funny bit. I think it would have made a good contrast to the more thinky pieces you guys wrote.
