Yeah, beer doesn't help migraines. I used to get them all the time and the only thing that would help was a pitch black room and sleep, and maybe some of my moms prescription migraine medication once in a while.
Oh, and I found out today that the dude that my boss fired on Monday that I liked and felt bad about, well, I found out he actually was a piece of shit and the store is better off without him!

Well, when he first started, he was normal. We could talk about anything and go out for a beer. Then, he started seeing this girl. She's all religious, so, of course, the same happened to him. And not just religious, but "saved." So, I have no problem with that, believe what you want. But soon enough, it was "I'm in the right, I was saved, you are a sinner." I had tons of arguments with him about evolution and if being gay was "a choice." He also didn't pull his weight, he had to be told what work to do, no common sense at all.
Anyway, I was in the back tonight scanning books, when one of my favorite customers Rob came in and wanted to "gossip." Rob is gay, and he was telling me that the dude who was fired would always tell him, after I had left for the night on Wed. that he "was going to pray for him and his sinful ways" and this and that. I was totally blown away, because I had no idea that was going on and that he was that fucking ugly and bigotted on the inside. Sorry, jerk!
David Mack and Kabuki, as well, if one can consider him 'new guard.'
I need a vegetable dish to take to a dinner party tomorrow. I want to shy away from asparagus, as I've done that a bit much with this crowd.
I would put him as one of the crossover generation. I would say that 100 Bullets also fits the criteria.
I've got Thor AND Galactus! Oh, and Captain America!
I love Hickman, but may I ask what grossed you out about Transhuman?
Does your store have the Thor in stock and do they ship?

I didn't really care for N News. I did a thread about my thoughts on it, not knowing the creator was on the board, I wasn't rude or anything, but it was awkward.

Cool; I'm going to go look up your thread. I'm not sure I really liked it either--especially the third act--but it was certainly inventive.

Yeah, the cat being raped.
It was just as much a question of taste level as it was being grossed out.

I think Mack's part of the previous guard.
How 'bout those brown sugar carrots?
That could work. Have any recipes on hand?

I think 'crossover' generation is spot on with Mack. For me the joy of Kabuki is seeing Mack grow from Circle of Blood which is, to me, pretty generic and unmemorable, to something like Metamorphosis and The Alchemy.

I don't, sorry. I think the last time I made that, I just found a super-basic recipe from Cooks.com or something, and varied it with some diff. ingredients.

We do not. We got one, and I bought it. Sorry Dave! I'll see tomorrow if we can order one if you want. We do ship! It's one of my jobs!

 See, I totally forgot about that! I love Hickmans books, but they all seem to have way to much of a gap in between their release.

I'm sure I'll think of something.

Yeah, I think that was in poor taste, especially how it was supposed to be "funny." Sort of fucked up.
DTM, I read your thread. It wasn't too awkward, except when he said "Thanks again!" and hadn't actually thanked you a first time. Oh, and maybe when he told you he was "already pretty aware" of the book's flaws.
