i for one would love to have the grand poobah take however extra-long it takes to sculpt a female & give collectors the statue they've/we've been asking for for so long, instead of a series of 5 or 6 variants of the same big guy. it can't possibly NOT sell well, based on the sheer amount of outcry over its (again) being put "on hold."

very disappointing, esp considering the superior quality of the sculpts so far.

Valkyrie would surely be incredible, too.

(i don't think it'll do any good & we should acknowledge that the contract extension issue isn't of Mr. B's making & that clearly he still wants to keep his customers/collectors satisfied, but he could decide to include this statue. it's his company--and i say this w/ utmost respect. no retaliation, please.)

It's a shame BD didn't at least plan an MB before all of this "on hold" anxiety. It "makes my teeth hurt" (as my editor would say) to see characters like Mangog, Ringmaster and the A.I.M agents up for order with the knowledge that a Valkyrie piece -- MB or FS -- may not be produced at all. I think BD is the greatest statue company in the world, but I wish they had thought this through a little more. I'm willing to bet there's a lot more interest in a Valkyrie bust than Mangog.

Yep....Val won the "Most Wanted" bust poll last summer over at StatueForum..by a number of votes! Everyone else in the Top 5 (Jack of Hearts, Firelord, Aurora and Northstar) have all been done, so it really does surprise me that this WASN'T a priority for Randy at the beginning of this phase, especially with Hellcat and Nighthawk out.

i think it was a priority, but a very unfortunate casualty of the extension issue. ever since this phase started (i found some old interviews on statueforum--anyone read these?), rb said he was really excited to sculpt Valkyrie himself. but he also said he finds female characters more challenging and time-consuming. i still think he should include Valkyrie and hope he will, but i don't think it's ONLY a question of priorities. there shouldn't be any doubt that the statue would be both fantastic and a runaway success, and i think those remain the 2 highest priorities for Bowen; unfortunately, it doesn't look as though there's time for all that would qualify as such. we can wish & hope, though!

and beg: Please?
