Sadly, I am currently unable to display all of my Bowen statues and mini-busts.

I live in a modest home and my wife would prefer me to not unleash upon the house the sheer awesomeness that are my Bowen statues...she fears for the well being of those who would enter our abode and be overwhelmed by said awesomeness surely resulting in spontaneous head explosions.

So I swap out from time to time. A few pieces are mainstays and I add here and there, but I'm trying to clean-up and reorganize my comic closet so they all came out. My 2 year old son even helped carrying boxes and getting some from those hard to reach spots. He LOVES looking at the pictures, "box" appears to be a favorite word as well as plaything, using some to help him climb...sigh. What can you do?

But it was cool seeing some that I hadn't seen in awhile.

I think a lot of us can appreciate this...I'd have them all over the house if I had my way...Classic Hulk would be rampaging from the back of my toilet over people's shoulders while they sit even:)...Nonetheless, how about a list, dEnny, if no pictures...always curious what people collect.

I in the same boat, Denny. I just don't have a place where I can display them all. And right now,I'm not displaying any in my study because my son and his friends are always bouncing around the house and I'm afraid they will break the statues.

We do have spare room and next year I hope to use it for Display.

I feel your pain, brother.

I live in a house that has very few walls that are condusive to display cases, so it didn't take much for my statue/MB collection to reach epic proportions and outgrow its alotted space. I used it as an opportunity in disguise to pare down and sell off a good chunk of my collection, though I still have two big tubs of stuff to sell. I then did what any reasonable homeowner would do in my circumstance: I remodeled a room and installed some new cabinetry to allow for greater expansion!

The upshot of all this is that I now have a smaller collection, plus more room to display what I have and to accept later additions.

My son has proven to be a bit rough having accidentally damaged one of my statues. He saw something he thought he could pull on and unfortunately it gave a bit. :(

Oh well, I love him more, I love him more... :D

My wife and I have talked about adding on a room to our home; a playroom for our kids (we are expecting our second - a boy) and one thing she was willing to do was let me put in some cabinets/bookshelves. I thought I might sell some of my comics, maybe statues to help fund the expansion.

We are waiting now and going to remodel our kitchen (new flooring, countertops, sink, pantry, and range/refrigerator) and bathroom (tile floor) and build up some more equity in our home so we can get a 90% HELOC for a lower interest rate.

Good luck with the baby and the loan but tell that wife of yours to unleash your inner-nerdism and let you display those statues.

Statues need love too.

He's right you know, dEnny. You can't hug a boxed statue.

Baby #2! WOW - when are you due? This is great!
I have had my collection boxed up since we put the house on the market. Well, now that our house has sold and we have purchased our new home, I will finally be able to display my collection again.
What you both are thinking makes complete sense to me. Good Luck!

I don't understand why more people don't display a little at a time. That's what I do.

:)

It always sucks having to box any collectible! It always eats at me until I find more room and display it again :p

February 22nd...it's going by WAY too fast.

I should take a picture of my guest bedroom with all the boxed statues/mini-busts....CRAZY! At some point my wife is going to go nuts if I don't clean it up. :D

WOW - Are you out of diapers yet with the 1st one? Our daughter is 2 and she is starting to potty train now. We are both kinda joking about the fact that as soon as Kaylah is out of diapers we will have to start buying them again...man, those things are expensive!

As for taking pictures of boxes, I plan on doing that before I start pulling out all of the stuff....man, there are so many of those things!

Nope, he's still in diapers, but he's not a fan so I'm thinking he'll be potty training himself shortly.

Excellent. We are trying to get ours to tell us when she has to go BEFORE she goes in her diaper. It is kinda cute when she tells you after the fact....daddy I pee pee....lol. You just have to roll your eyes and smile.
