Mostly ALL new projects that you guys have heard that are "on the list"; that you have not seen yet: are on hold, until we get an extension from Marvel.
In other words; if you've not see it, then it is on hold indefinitely. DO NOT PM ME ABOUT IT PLEASE.
I appreciate you interest in all our items, but I simply can't let you know the status of something that is on hold.
I wish I could tell you more, but that's all I have for the moment.
Sorry.

Man...I know how much I want Marvel to get off their duffs and get the extension, and phase V done, so you can get all of the cool stuff you have planned and even partially done going. I'll bet this is even more frustrating for you than it is for all of us Randy...I wish there was something we could do to help, but I know you don't want anyone doing anything, but being patient and waiting for the news, when it comes....

Dc seems to be only interested in doing batman black and white statues. I am sick of them. Other then that all they do is superman & wonder woman. They don't even make the statues to the same scale and more 9 inches tall is the standard for them. The early one done by randy and paquet were the best they ever had to offer. When they closed the wb stores they should have made is a catalogue business like fao swartz. Wb pices were much better then the ones now done by dc direct.
That's why Randy Bowen rocks! and is the king. He continues to rock our world with fantastic pieces.

DC would be cool with me, i think we can all agree that the world would be a better place with a Randy Bowen Detective Chimp statue in it;)
I'm sorry but I find Marvel to be EXTREMELY unproffesional. They do this every single time with Randy. I'm confident they will eventually give out the license but this dragging their feet is just stupid. It should be a 1 day formality by now.
what's the delay anyway?
Marvel sucks. (Marvel's current administration I mean)

I remember the days when they're were no sneeks, updates, or question answering and you had to wait till the Diamond Previews catalog came out to see what was new.

Although I REALLY hope that Archangel statue sees production, it sounds to me like it's time to move on to DC. This is the second time in a short period that Marvel has seemed to jerk you around as far as an extension.
Is a DC license still a possibility? I'm willing to bet there are a few DC characters you'd love to sculpt. I'd also be on board for a mythos/fantasy line from Bowen Designs. There are quite a few legendary creatures and Gods I'd love to get.

Wow, bad news. I know there are going to be many disappointed collectors. On the other hand, it will give some of us time to gather funds for when the extension happens.

Pesimist starting to post again... Randy only said what he was said maaaany times before , it's so logical that he can't or wont to answer questions that even Randy himself knows how will turn, basically because is not in his hand the future of the phase.Thats all ,no need you to start posting in negative way saying things like "time to move to DC"...

Holy Crap,
Whats with all the lets move onto DC talk. There is a ton of stuff up for order right now. Yes we all want to know about the extension but lets not start jumping ship. If Randy started doing DC then most of us would never get any of the Marvel FS and MB's we still want. Lets just enjoy what we have for awhile.

I do agree that Randy should work on DC characters some day in the future, but not in very near future. It is true that if Randy starts on DC, then it will be hard to get back to Marvel yet there are so many Marvel characters we have been waiting from BD. I hope Marvel will understand. Please extend Phase IV and then renew Phase V for Randy!

I would love for Bowen to sculpt a Batman, but DC has to prove that they have their head out their ass to let good statues come out.

I'd hate to see DC waste Randy's talent on numerous Superman and Batman statues, and actions figures. We don't even hear from Ray Villafane anymore.

I don't understand why they would do that?? They are like making collectibles not collectible by releasing pieces in different scales. How would one collector display if you have a Batman in 1/4 scale standing next to a Superman in 1/8 scale? DC need to establish a consistent line and I hope Randy will handle that type of project for DC when the time comes.

Yeah dude. Ray just disappears after we have seen his beautiful Superman vs Darkseid piece. Also, where is Andy Bergholtz?

My point is that DC just doesn't produce great statues and they really haven't even put the great talent that they have to good use (you are right, Patrick).
So, make mine Marvel and make mine Bowen.

So if we are to understand correctly...to date, if we've seen a "photo" we're gonna get it within this phase. If we haven't...well, we're SOL until the new contract.
So can you at least tell us when Marvel is supposed to confirm the contract extension?

Does that include photos of works in progress? Like the DD statue? Or just pics of completed/painted pieces?
Thanks.

I'm real tired of Marvel constantly dragging their feet with this. What do they have to gain by jerking Randy around?

Well Marvel didn't really produce any good statues before Randy came along either. Obviously none of us want to see the Marvel line end, but if Marvel just sits back and lets it go, then what? If Marvel's not interested then its time to find someone else, and DC would be a perfect replacement.
Make mine Bowen, Marvel or no Marvel

For me it'd be a really stoic-looking Green Lantern (Hal) museum pose.
And I'd like to see what he'd come up with for Killowag.

It pretty silly saying things like Marvel sucks - they are a big corporate company with a lot of IP to protect and a lot of potential licensees wanting to strike up deals with them; a large number that will give them far more revenue than this. Its no surprise that these things take time to sort out, even more so in the current economic climate.
I'm sure that Bowen's contract will be renewed - just be paitent young grasshoppers...

Obviously, I want the Marvel/Bowen Designs relationship to continue on, spiralling into infinity and spewing forth torrents of hot, steaming mini-bust into the birth canal of awesomeness.
There'd be a handful of DC characters I'd like to see Bowen and co. handle - Two-Face, Scarecrow, and the Penguin come to mind - but on a personal level, DC just doesn't have the interesting depth and range of characters Marvel has. Oh, and there's the niggling problem that DCDirect and, really, all of DC's merchandising is completely ass-backwards, and will probably never pull its collective head from out it's ass (to paraphrase Coug).

Not speaking for everybody (of course) but I think that most, if not all of us, would really prefer you stay with Marvel for another...say 10 to 15 phases. 5000 characters in Marvel's vault. Plenty left to cover.
Excellent work, sir, please keep it up.

It's time for DC Randy. You've done a great job with Marvel, and everyone should be pretty darn happy. But there are so many DC characters to tackle and it feels like maybe it's time...

There's a ton more Marvel sculpts I would buy including revisits.
With DC, I'd get anything Wonder Woman, plus Supes, Batman and Flash. An Aquaman diorama with sea creatures would be boss. Maybe Catwoman, Batgirl and Supergirl but that's probably it for me.

Randy,
You get an A + for some wonderful character selections this phase...
My one critique would be that you asked us twice in polls for what we wanted next and Antman WON both polls.
An Antman / Yellowjacket would have filled out an Avengers line up nicely if the extension never happens.
Regardless, lots of cool stuff this time around.

this is certainly a marvel biased fanbase on this forum... and as much as i am a fan of Marvel.. DC is in need of some Bowen handywork... There have basically been NO good DC full size statues for the past 10 years or more. And for those who say DC's characters arent as exciting as Marvel's, have obviosuly not read many DC title's.. i would do ANYTHING for a Bowen Jonah Hex!
