View Full Version : Marvel vs Capcom 2 coming to PS3 and 360

We've got bad news for these eBay sellers -- a poster on NeoGAF noticed that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has been rated for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Presumably, the title will be downloadable one on the PS Store and XBLA. The ESRB has been a good source of leaks in the past, so we have no reason believe otherwise in this instance.
With the a total of 56 playable characters in the game spanning two vast fictional universes, hopefully Capcom doesn't plan on charging us $1.99 per character download.

Hope I can trade in my existing PS2 copy before the store gets wind of this.
They are still offering £30+ for this title last time I checked, but that'll drop like a stone once they hear this is happening.

i could careless now. When i finally got a copy of it (for normal price) i was lucky to have got it. Some sap traded it in at gamestop for 20 bucks and they sold it to me for 40. I thought about selling my copy to make a 100 bucks like some friends of mine did on ebay. However, i enjoy the game too much to part with it, in fact, i just dusted off 1 and 2 yesterday and played a few matches with an old friend. Now if Capcom would get involved in making part 3.

I wonder if they'll add any downloadable content like they did with Megaman 9. New characters (doubtful) or other such things would be nice.

yeah, that's my dilemma too. I still have the PS2 version and could get $35 for it, easily.
Shit, I may bite the bullet and finally sell it. There's too many games coming this fall that I'm gonna want. $35 for a game I'll rebuy later for a fraction of that price is almost too good to pass up.

I will definitely download this from the Arcade.
Hopefully they clean up the sprites, or do a better job of up-rezzing them than they did for Super Puzzle Fighter.

Playing Marvel Capcom 2 with you guys on Xbox Live? That's going to be great!
My teams usually contain the likes of Ice Man, Spiral (people hate it when I play Spiral), Sentinel, Magneto, Iron Man, Thanos, Jill Valentine, Blackheart, or Psylocke. Those are my favorites anyway.
I remember when I first was into X-men Children of the Atom, I went out and got the 1st appearance of as many of the characters as I could. Sentinel and Juggernaut in Uncanny and Silver Samurai in Spider-woman (I think that was it). I still need the Longshot mini for Spiral, but I hate Mojo...

There's a genuine rumor going around that it may happen since there's probably no way (due to licensing) that Tatsunoko vs Capcom will hit the States and that Capcom wants to release a "Vs" game in the States again.
But take that with a grain of salt.

Sweet news. I was going to pick up the game for the original XBox but passed after I found out that it wasn't playable on XBox Live (Fuck you very much for that Activision) Still have my Dreamcast version though :)
Anybody know if that new XBox controller that isn't going to be released in the US is going to work here or not? That'd be a must buy for this game.

well, online they went for over 100...i know gamestop had them for 80 bucks, and you got 30-40 when you traded it
but this might drop a bit because of this announcement...
thank god i still have my ps2, dreamcast versions

It's cheaper for you to get a 360 than it is for me to get a PS3. :-?
Maybe one day when there's a big pricedrop. I would rather play using a Sony Controller. Microsoft's dpad still sucks.

You're better off. The 360's BC with Marvel vs Capcom 2 sucks hard. The sprites get distorted at random times, and it just looks...ugly for whatever reason. That and the lack of online suck hard.
The local arcade just got an old, original Marvel vs Capcom machine. Happy days are here again.
