I use to buy all the Bowen statues as they come out. But what I have always wanted was to collect the original X-men done by Randy, And the Original Avergers and charaters that added a special meaning to me. I pushed hard for a Human formed Beast, that fell on closed minds. Randy's pieces have increase in quality over the years. To get the Version of Captain America that i want as variants. I have having and artist perform surgery and cutting of this arms with the Shields and replacing them with the opposite arms full cowl verion with the V shield and the WWII masked version with the round shild they appeared both ways, but no one seems to car about history.

I understand you want the characters made how you want them, but don't you think Randy and company bend over backwards to do this already. He comes on here and asks opinions, gives sneaks, and sometimes makes adjustments based on feedback.

Where else do you get this kind of interaction?

When the hobby stops becoming fun, maybe you should look for something else that makes you happy. Because a hobby like this is supposed to help you free yourself of the daily grind and bring some joy to your life.

well said CT. Randy is doing his best to satisfy us the collectors. Have you ever seen SIdeshow people or Koto people come to the forum and ask us what we want them to produce??? Bowen Designs is the best and they make the collection as complete and as fun as possible. Keep up the good stuff!

buy what you like, if you don't like it don't buy it, why get bent out of shape. If Randy makes something I don't like I just don't buy it, plain and simple....but what you got to sell :-)

Too funny.

The fact of the matter is: I love the original costume X-Men better than any other version. Even more so: I dig the Neal Adams art on the book from the 70's.

Let's face it: Marvel has literally thousands of characters that would make cool sculptures. Everyone wants something different. Some people feel I go out of my way to deny them their favorite character. I don't.

If people don't like what Bowen is making, then sell off their collections to those who are enjoying the hobby!

I think Randy does the best job of appealing to the widest variety of people. If you are a comic fan and can't find something you like in Bowens huge list of product, you simply aren't looking!

so Randy is there any particular reason why you haven't even touched the original X-men. Not complaining,..just curious. I mean you're going on 10 years of doing this stuff. If they are your favorite and there is demand than why the delay?

The same could be said of dozens (if not scores) of other characters as well. Sometimes it's a matter of "the squeaky wheel getting the grease".Not that many people have been screaming for the original X-Men.

Other times, we just schedule the characters that we know will sell well. In the case of the original X-Men; I think it was because Diamond had already released their version of the original X-men, and I wanted some distance between BD and that release. Also I know that the more modern version of the characters would sell better.

I would be all over an original x-men line.

So do you feel Doc Ock and Electro won't be big sellers? You'd know better than me. Just curious.

Thanks for the reply Randy. Really? you don't think the original X-men would be an instant sell out?
Well I can help you out with that with a poll.
Also, I think by now there has been enough distance for you to be ok to do them.
Lastly, I want you to consider Randy that for so many of us BD is the standard bearer of Marvel statue making. Even if another company produces a character many of us would rather have that character within the BD line, in the BD scale. This has been proven many times over with guys like Iron Fist, and Hawkeye, and others. If I were you I wouldn't worry about what other companies have done. I really think for many of us it ain't done until BD does it.

Yeah, I don't own any Marvel statue that isn't Bowen. If you guys don't make it, I don't even pay attention to it.

Randy, no matter what you do, you cannot please everyone. For instance, I'm not a fan of the faux bronze pieces that you put out for reasons that will remain my own but, I just love the work that you do! I'm not a crazy collector that has to own every piece that you produce, I only collect the pieces that I truly like. If RedHulk isn't happy, noone is forcing him to buy your pieces.

RedHulk, if you're serious about selling off some of your stuff, pm me with a list of what you have and how much you want for each piece.

Well, I feel a little bad here. It almost feels like we ganged up on the poor guy.

I don't agree with him, but I also don't want him to feel like he can't post anymore.

This section of JINX has always been pretty friendly so I hope you take this with a grain of salt and come back and post and discuss more.
