View Full Version : FS Cable Costume preferances?

Hoping and praying that Marvel gets that extension I was wondering for those of you that were interested in the Cable statue, what costume you liked the most. From the sketches it appeared that he would be in his original uniform but I figured since we got a modern nova variant we might have a shot at a different cable costume variant. I have 3 images.. I have the original costume, what looks like a more modified original costume( the modified costume would be art work from Jim Lee that Harry Potter has provided), and an x-men affiliated costume. I personally like the x-men affiliated one cause I like how all the X-Men statues look together when displayed but that's just my opinion so here we go...

Not trying to offend anyone here. Just desiring to know. What's up with/why do you guys and gals like Cable?
I started reading comics in 75 and all the way up to this year. I kinda got out of X-Men a little before Cable was introduced. So I know nothing about him, except that he's Cyclops son from the future after Days of Future Past Byrne/Claremont run.
I guess my real question is why the passion for this guy?
Again, I do hope you all get a mini bust and a full size! Y'all, much like the Dazzler fans DESERVE it! :)

A future cyborg soldier,very cool concept at the very least.Combine that into his X universe ties and there you go.
I just want a Cable mb and fs....I don't care what costume he's in!! Randy does NOT like this character so I will be happy with whatever he puts out...no variants necessary.

That's the same way I felt about Man-Ape, way I seen it if Randy makes it or has it done, that was good enough for me!!! I wasn't about to critique it one bit!!!

Boy this is a tough one. I'm literally 50/50 on Jim Lee or X-men. I like them both alot. There's so much going on with the Jim Lee costume, as per his usual style, yet I love the X-men's costume design as well. Cable really is more of a loner rebel than anything so the Jim Lee version might be the way to go. I don't know. This is too damn hard! The Kucharek's bros. scetch was pretty much of the Jim Lee design so I imagine that that will be the way Randy goes. I'm gonna go ahead and vote for Jim Lee's version and strongly request that since Randy dislikes this character so much that he make a small run of the X-men version as well for the variant and then he would never have to touch this character again because I really like that version as well. He really does deserve both versions.

you guys are getting the wrong impression...I am ecstatic that Randy finally committed to doing a Cable statue..I just figured if enough people voted we could just ask him for an x-costume related statue...maybe a real small run...If i remember he didn't initially plan a modern full size nova..the kuchareks just ended up doing one...I didn't make this thread to critique anything.. just wanted to see if other people wanted a similar costume and just see what develops if anything

I voted...but I like the Jim Lee style one....I almost which Randy would try and do a "separate" phase line where he does Jim Lee X-men. I think for a LOT of people those are the definitive looks.
Now I realize the strength of Byrne's X-men and others....but if you think about it....the X-men are MOST recognized in the Jim Lee style. Heck, a lot of people know of the X-men from the 1990's cartoon....where all the characters were pretty much based on Jim Lee costumes.
So I think we all know Randy has said Cable is on hold pending the extension.....but was that only the FS or was that the mb as well???

At this point just to get a Cable I would take whatever costume Randy decided to put him in....I just feel like Cable will be lucky to ever see the light of day from BD.

haha I'm surprised there are even 4 people who liked the original costume and yes i would agree that this would be an awesome variant...even if there 300 that would be awesome.. I would without a doubt pick it up

I think this poll is proof that both the X-men and Jim Lee version need to be done when the time "hopfully" comes for the FS Cable to become a reality. No one version is the clear and heavy favorite. People are pretty evenly split between the two so both should be done.

I could go either way. Since I collect busts and FS now (many more busts than FS, but this phases's FS purchases are equaling, if not exceeding, my bust buys), I would like to see a FS in one "generation" and a bust in another.

it would be sick if he did a variant with cable in an x-men uniform standing on a nimrod head.. again im not banking on an x-men costume but i think if enough people want one we could ask randy if he'd be up for a variant edition in the future if the extension goes through

just checked out ebay and apparently kotobukiya is releasing a cable statue... randy's would blow this one away..i guess it's based off the current cable with the baby..you guys should check it out when you have a chance

Yeah, it's going to be the Messiah Complex story arc Cable. Randy and the Kucharek's would blow that one out of the water. I mean, in the original Kucharek brothers scetch they had him standing on a sentinel's head as a base packing two guns in each hand (not a baby) for crying out loud. Still, atleast somebody is doing a Cable statue. I still think that the X-men and Jim Lee costume is the way to go. If we can get multiple costume versions of Wolverine and Jean Grey for their many iconic looks than we certainly should be able to get one piddlin' extra for Cable as well. This guy helped change the future and safe many mutants. He deserves to be given a break! :)
