Are you going to buy the new Captain America: Metallic?

If so, do you prefer the glossy finish of the pic on the left or how it looks in the picture to the right?

I liked the glossy on the left when it was first shown years ago, and was kinda pissed that it got changed in the first place, but I also really like the new toned down "metallic" version on the right. I guess I would leave it up to Randy's judgement to decide which looks better in person, and hope he makes that one.

shouldnt you be happy your getting your metallic cpt america instaed of not being happy that its not glossy enough. i think that people need to stop nit picking every statue for flaws. there is a reason why we all collect bowen designs statues thats because they are the best out there. so people should just relax and enjoy the statues and trust that randy will produce the best possible statues. and if any of us could do it better we would be sculpting ourselves instead of collectors. anyway congrats that your finally getting your metallic cap

Wal Mart sells an acrylic gloss finish in a spray can in the crafts section. Seriously, dude, mask the part you don't want glossy and spray away.

I don't think me asking what happenned to the gloss finish is odd. I LOVE what Danno did and will happily buy multiples of it, but, yes...I prefer it to have a gloss finish like in the pic we rallied around.

Randy, the regular metallic paint looks like a compromise to the people who don't want glossy. Those collectors should be happy with the flat paint 1st release Cap. Please give the fans of the glossy paint exactly what we want. Fans that didn't want the glossy paint cost me a shot at one the 1st time around. Please don't let it happen twice. Otherwise, we might have to start another poll: Who wants a glossy metallic Cap?

Actually, no...the red stripe is normally in the middle under the star.

I just wanted to put this out there....I'm not disappointed in Randy's art direction or Danno's paints on this one. It's a beautiful piece! I just thought it odd that Randy thought we didn't want it glossy after campaigning so long using that glossy pic. At the end of the day, this is Randy's creation. He wants it to look a certain way. He has seen both looks. I'm sure he knows what he is doing or he wouldn't be as successful as he is. If there are two folks I trust when it comes to making the best statues, it's Randy & Danno. My praise knows no bounds for both these gentleman. If they think this will look better in person than the glossy, I trust their judgement.

Don't give up Al! We all know this version you showed (glossy) is what you've been campaigning for this whole time! If Bowen Designs decides not to make it then theirs nothing you can do short of you or someone else glossing it. But don't give in until you're told it definitely won't happen.

I hope the really glossy version gets made, but I would want the shield moved to his left arm or more preferably, to his back like the mini bust!

I like the one on the right best...the leg musculature really stands out with that paint job. AND, I will definitely be buying one, if I can afford it!!!!:-?

Al, it's not. You can buy liquid masking and brush the stuff on where you want a "flatter" look. Buy a can of gloss acrylic spray at Wal Mart for $5.00 and spray away. Let it dry and peel away the liquid (now dry) mask. I'm sure you could also get some of the pro painters that post on the Sideshow boards or that advertise in Amazing Figure Modelling magazine to do it cheap if you want to go that route.
