The Kirkman jabs were great and I was shocked to learn Brubaker was such an anti-semite ;)

The Defenders vs. The Offenders......ok, it's got the return of Baron Mordo, I'm hooked. Though I am wondering about the return of Dr. Strange since his hands are currently shattered.

I hear you there. I'm not a huge continuity monger, but I definitely don't want to see anything Loeb does contridict the Doc Strange thread Bendis has been hyping after Secret Invasion.

easy fix...
who's to say the red hulk story is just days after ww hulk, and right before the full blown invasion.
as brian likes to say, don't pull too hard on the continuity threads, just let the story stand on its own.

I totally get you there John. I tend to use One More Day as a an explanation of continuity hiccups in the Avengers books post Civil War. Since Mephisto made the deal with Peter and MJ, anything that Spider-Man is a part of could have been affected, or something like that.
I'm honestly not too concerned. I know Jeph's stance on continuity, but I also know he's said he'd never wreck someone else's story. It'll work out, but hearing Strange mentioned just made me wonder how it'll go down.

I really loved this podcast. Jeph has worked on shorting his answers! I can't wait for the next installment and hopefully he'll answer my questions

everyone just be patient, and please don't ask where part 2 is.
we may not be able to record till next sunday.
however there's been 3 new eps in the last 7 days, and more are coming this week, so the glass is half full

So when is part 2? Yes yes I am an http://www.threadbombing.com/data/media/15/ass_hole.jpg (http://www.threadbombing.com/details.php?image_id=2681)
I was wondering though, did anyone else think Jeph seemed a little irritable? He seemed a little short at times. I realize at times he was joking but still sometimes it seemed he wasn't really joking THAT much. Also he doesn't seem to be a fan of Kirkman's. I'm curious what John's take was on all of that. Did you sense any crankiness? Maybe he's lighting the candle at both ends too much or even more likely, Gary (me) has too much time to think on these points on his long morning commute. ;) Either way I look forward to part 2 whenever it comes out. No need to feel rushed on our account. I suppose I can "settle" for an interview with Dave "I Fucking Drew Watchmen!" Gibbons if I must. EXCELSIOR!

We say Jeph was joking, but saying "Nobody buys Invincible" or "Nobody reads Invincible" and "Who cares" just comes out wrong. People shouldn't gang up on Kirkman for just being honest. RK's doing his own thing now, that's cool.
And anyone who reads both Invincible and Ultimates 3...yah, you know what's up. Jeph's comics don't come out as good as his fellow writers. Nothing personal, but on a professional level, that has to be said. The general comics reading community knows when quality work is on the page, and when it's not.

jeph has said the same things about bendis in jest, with the same mocking tone.
sorry, but there's no animosity between these guys over this.

yeah, it definitely sounds like he's joking when he's picking on brubaker, but he definitely does NOT sound like he's kidding at ALL when he discusses how meaningless kirkman is. and then when john tries to make it a happy joke, jeph does that "yeah, yeah, he's a great guy" sort of fake apology. i enjoy it, i think there are probably a lot of creators who want to say what jeph is saying rather than being polite, but i don't think he's kidding...

That was the tone I got too. I didn't flinch about the Brubaker comments but the Kirkman ones seemed less in jest. Either way he's more than entitled to his opinion. I'm just glad to see it wasn't just me.

Rickamerica specifically weighed heavily on my mind. Poor man will never know the answers to his questions and will live an empty meaningless life as a result. He is in my thoughts. Until I find something better to think about at least. Like boobies. I like boobies. What was I talking about again?
