Sean Connery (cruel and suave)
Dr. No (the least gadgets! - just a geiger counter)
We Have All the Time in the World (ironic, and begins just as the Lazenby Bond goes clinically insane)
Dr. No (the only one I've read--Bond is not quite the cold-hearted bastard of the films--is "bastard" safe on these boards?)

Annnnd I've never read any of the books, but I DO love my trade of the comic strips of Her Majesty's Secret Service

We Have All the Time in the World
sadly ironic in many ways, given it's the last song louis armstrong recorded

Okay, in people's mind, is it worth buying the James Bond DVD set? Are they're more bad then good films? I've only seen a handful honestly (all the connery, brosnan, and now craig) and some were good, some bad, so what do you guys think? Get it? or just buy individually?

i bought films individually, but that was before they issued the most recent sets.
what i like most about the dvds are the tons of bonus features, including good commentaries, and the excellent multi-part bond history docus narrated by patrick macnee .
on the newer dvds, roger moore has done commentaries for many of his films

Connery. As good as Craig has proven to be, Connery is just too iconic for anyone to steal the crown
Goldfinger
Live and Let Die but I'm digging The Quantum of Solace theme pretty hard
Never read any of the books.

Daniel Craig - Connery may be the icon, and Brosnan is the one I grew up with, but Craig makes me actually give a shit about Bond in a way I never did before.
Casino Royale - Golden Eye is great, but it drags in places, Die Another Day is great in a crazy silver age superhero Bond way -- pure fun, but Casino Royale manages to be both exciting AND a damn good movie all in one, with very little of the trademark Bond film cheese.
Die Another Day - yeah, I fuckin' said it. The way that song, the story, and the "Bond Girls" intro came together at the beginning of that movie has cemented it as the most unique and interesting Bond opening I've ever seen. I can even forgive that lame-ass "Sigmund Frued, analyze this" line. Just a very well-mixed song. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umzSyqHSJxI )
Haven't read any of the books. Though, after hearing that they're played straighter than a lot of the movies, I'm very interested in picking them up.
